July/Early August Brides

Any July/Early August Brides out there? I could use your help! smile41.gif

I am getting married at the end of July and I feel like I am behind. I need help with my timeline. My mother passed away a few years ago and I don't have sisters, my FMIL only has boys, so I need to rely on you girls!

Should I have sent out my STDs already? How long before my wedding do I send out my invitations? Any tips are appreciated!

Thanks!

Congrats on your upcoming wedding!

I am getting married 9 days before you so we should be working on similar time lines. I mailed out my save the dates in Sept. In order to allow people an opportunity to book their trip on their time. This way they can watch the travel rates and book when it was best for them. On my save the dates I had a link to my wedding website which had most of the vital information about the wedding. I plan on sending out my invitations in April. I choose pocket fold invites so that I can pack them with wedding details. Remember you may want an RSVP of all your guest so get your invites out with enough time. One of he destination wedding books I was reading recommended mailing invites for a destination wedding 4 months in advanced. I already ordered my dress over the summer so it should be arriving any day now. My bridesmaids haven’t ordered their dresses yet and the bridal shop I am working with recommended ordering them in the next month to allow for alterations. I hope all this information helps and doesn’t overwhelm you. Let me know if you need any more help I'm always up for PM.

Okay, so we are getting married on August 5th.

STD's - We sent ours out in early October with a one-page insert with our TA information and all booking details as well as our wedding website information.

Invites: We are planning on sending those out late March/Early April for those that did not understand that the STD was a 'gentle nudge' to book their trips (I say that because a lot of my family wanted to know when the actual invites are being sent so they can book their trips -- I don't know why they didn't understand the purpose of the information I sent in the STD's! Sorry, done venting LOL).

Dress: I ordered mine yesterday.

BM Dresses: We chose them yesterday. I am hoping to have them ordered by the middle of January.

And I echo Lauren's offer, if you need help feel free to PM me!!! Hang in there; there is lots of support on here so you are definetely not the 'lone lady' in your planning!

I am getting married July 11. STD's went out in October with a link to our wedding website. I got my dress in Sept. The bridesmaids dresses are picke out but not yet ordered. Our trip for the wedding (Jamaica) and honeymoon (St. Lucia) is booked and airfare is paid for.

I thought I was behind because I have not yet sent out the invitations but it looks like you girls are planning on sending them out in march/april so that makes me feel alot better.

My father just passed away on New Years Eve and had been really sick just before that so I haven't done any wedding stuff in the last 2 months and I was freaking out al ittle today that I don't have more done...but I know everything will work out.

Ok, I'm getting married a week before you and I'm feeling behind too. I would agree that STDs should have gone out already....although I started working on mine in October and still haven't sent them out...I also haven't been working on them since! Hopefully this week I will be able to get on it...I work two jobs full time and the other 6 hours of the day I try to sleep, so wedding planning has been difficult. One of my jobs is overnight, so I spend most of the night on the forum, but it doesn't allow me to work on things like invitations.

Because I am so late in getting out my STDs I have tweaked them a little. I am kind of combining the STD with the invite, and included an RSVP. Most people already have our website and we have a fairly small guestlist, (45 invited, guessing 20 will attend), so people have known about the date and location since September. Once I have a finalized guest list and it is closer to the wedding I plan to send out boarding pass invites, but only to those guests that are coming (to save money and part of the stress of making them myself)...

I finally bought my dress (it's actually my 3rd...ugh), and we have our wedding bands, and I started collecting things for the OOT bags, but other than that, I'm slacking.

Wow...sorry this is so long...good luck with your planning; I'm sure everything will come together!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
