Help with speach

Recommended Posts

Hi girls I was just wondering if anyone would be willing to post samples of the thank you speaches they said or are planning to say at their wedding. My FI and I are trying to think of something now, but I suck at expressing my feelings on writing, so I just wanted to get a few ideas from you girls! we just want to say something short and sweet.

Thanks so much for your help with this!

lol - when I first got engaged, someone gave me this big book of Speeches and Thank Yous. I haven't looked through it - and it's at home, otherwise I'd take a look at it now for you. I think they'd be pretty impersonal though! If you like I check when I get home in a few hours

Sarah -

I didn't say a damn thing! The nice thing about being married is that your husband can speak for both of you :) Rafael stood up at some point during dinner & basically thanked everybody for making the trip to spend our special day with us.

The fun part for me was hearing what everybody else stood up to say to us, the happy couple.

Oops, sorry about that Lisa! I am personally a big fan of impromptu speeches, so I probably wouldn't stress out too much. Just go with the flow. Something along the lines of "James & I are so blessed to have such amazing friends and family. Thank you for making the journey to join us at the begining of our life journey. Cheers!"

Oh I'm sooo going to use that one!!

Well maybe he won't be drunk in a corner...but you know what I mean....he sooo is not going to want to talk to everyone. MAYBE once there, he'll change his mind.

Thanks for the speech Christa!!

Crap, I wish---- Frank gets too nervous when he has to stand and do anything publicly... Plus, a big portion of my job requires me to do public speaking in fronto of strangers and to write my own material, so I know I'll be the one speaking for both of us.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
