mobayjabride, I love your pics, I was on Marcia website over the weekend and spotted them and am glad to be able to tell you how wonderful everything looked.  Your archway was beautiful, who did it (and if you don't mind me asking at what cost).  I've hired Marcia as well so I frequently check out her new pics.

Other ladies, the last 2 times I've emailed Nicole, I've had a response within 24 hours.  I don't know if its because my time is drawing near or what but most times I get fairly quick response.  Wedding October 11....41 days!

I am thrilled to say that all my legal documents made it there and she is in the process of obtaining my official marriage license!!!  woot!

Hey ladies! My fiance just threw at me a new challenge for the wedding! We have our wedding date set for August 19 2011 at IGRH, and we originally got this resort because we were going down alone! Since then, we've had several family members and friends say they would love to go if we invited people! So we figured we would! I asked my fiance if he wanted to switch resorts so his son could go, but said no since his parents wouldn't be going! However, now he wants him to go so has asked his parents if they would go so they could take his son! They said yes! So I've emailed the IGRH about what I should do! They suggested that I could still have the wedding at the IGRH and he can come to the wedding, and if we wanted a dinner afterwards, we could switch over to the suites or have a private reception at IGRH! I'm sure having a private reception would be expensive... I thought switching between the 2 resorts would almost be a waste so I emailed IRHS to see if my date was available... and of course it's not :(! So now I'm stuck with decisions... Do I switch my date.. do i go ahead with the wedding at IGRH and reception at IRHS.. Would wedding guest still be required to pay the day pass just to come to the wedding?? I'm so confused on what to do! If anyone has been in the same category I am in... please help!! lol

Wow, mobayjabride, I really enjoyed your wedding pictures. Thanks so much for sharing.

Hey AndynJenn, hmm that's a tough one. Did you try asking the wedding co. if there would be an extra fee for the day pass and a private reception? I'm doing my wedding next May 2011 at the IRHS. We are expecting a big croud, and will be having a private rececption at Aunt Ruby. It's really not that expensive, only about $800 to rent the room from 7pm-10:30pm + DJ fees, etc. Hope you find what you are looking for?

Also, I am using the resort photographer but wondering if you get all pictures taken on a cd instead of just the few pictures that you get printed in your package?  Did anyone get a video done with the resort?  Is it worth it?

Thanks in advance girls!  :)

Jess - Definetly give them a call, ask to talk to the management. and ask when Tameica is in. She is the WC there at the moment. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

Is this too early or too late? I checked the iberostar website and they arnt showing any avaliablity for April -does this mean its too early?? or too late? Im concerned so im going to email Nicole!

We booked roughly 6 months in advance. I have guests that are still booking (3 months until) and Im sure I'll have more stragglers too. Luckily rates are pretty much the same as they were when we booked.

Anyone doing a sand unity? I want to, but don't know how well it will do travel back home. Won't all the sand get mixed together and look ugly.

Any suggestions?

I think as long as you stuff something into the top of vase, like a sock or something just to pack it in tightly while its in the suitcase it should be fine. Almost every desti bride does them, so fitting!

Do you know if we are allowed to bring colored sheer to add to the huppa?  I'm really confused on how I want my layout to be.  A huge part of me wants a beach party with a bonfire and maybe a band the night before the wedding.  Does this seem crazy?

Yes you can. I still don't know the meaurements of the huppa though, does anyone?

Mobayjabride - Your photos are beautiful! I LOVE your ceremony set up. It was stunning. Thanks so much for sharing them!

As per the dimensions of the huppa, the approximate measurements are: Height=7ft 5inches, Length=7ft 7inches, width= 3ft 4inches. Please note that the huppa is set and unset on the sand for the weddings so the measurements might vary a little.

If you should need any further information please let me know.

Sincerely,

Hi Princess, I hired JAweddingDJ after hearing some good reviews on here. I think I will have to buy a guest pass for him. :(

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
