Hey Liz!

Who are you using to plan your off-site wedding? We're planning an off-site wedding as well, just curious because we're on the hunt for music vendors!

Thanks!!

(I assume you're talking about me cause my profile says exactly what you read) I'm not fake i promise! lol  I see we have the same wedding date, but yes mine is on a private beach nearby and yes our reception is at the Iberostar, but at the suites not the beach resort. (I believe you said yours is at the beach?) But don't worry I have my own wedding coordinator, I am literally not using the Iberostar WC's for anything, I don't even have their names or contact info! So I won't be bogging them with questions or anything like that, they're there for you 100%!

I know the one wedding  a day thing is a big deal to a lot and for good reason! But unfortunatly no matter where you go and what they promise, that won't be the case. Every 5star resort I've been to in the Carribean is always packed with weddings! I was in Punta Cana and they had 9 wedding in a day at our resort, one after the other after the other. I bet there will be a few more wedding than just us too. (off resort weddings) (obvs. cause destination weddings are awesome!!) But you will be the only bride on the beach during your ceremony don't worry!!!(well you damn well better be)  And if it helps put your mind at ease, we don't have a large group and will be at our ceremeony site until 6:00 and having dinner at 6:30 at Calabash. Good luck with everything and I hope this helps.

Oh yeah one more thing....Can I get in on this DANCE PARTY?!??!?!

Does anyone know if they serve food outside at the beach parties and/or what time they start? I am trying to plan that into our schedule (hoping the party at the Beach is still on Thursdays), and want to know if we should all plan on eating at a restaurant first or just heading there for food and drinks.

Hey! We're doing our whole wedding through Tropical Weddings Jamaica and Almarie Walters. They're freaking AMAZING, i'm really glad we decided to do the off-site private wedding :) She has set up the music and they have a steel drum band and DJ that they use. Are you looking for a DJ or a band?

So did your dress count as your one carry-on item? I was planning on bringing my small carry-on suitcase and also my dress on the plane with me.

@ MrsDesz,

I know a lot of BDW brides who are getting married off-site but have guests staying at IB resorts. What the wedding coordinators have told them is the brides getting married on property have first dibs on any and all locations for activities such as bonfires and rehearsal dinners.

This is not to say, that I don't understand your feeling mislead.

Anyway technically you are the bride that day at IRHB!  Don't worry, everything will work out beautifully.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Lol, I was wondering if you might catch up on this thread. I didn't ask you about it cause I was afraid it might come across bitchy and I would dream in a million years of suggesting you move your wedding reception or anything like that. Like I said, I just didn't want mix ups as I'm always way too polite to tell anyone that something was done wrong. You can definitely get in on the dance party woot.gif

I would think that the Beach would be the same as the Suites and when I inquired about this I was informed that at the evening beach party there is only drinks and entertainment provided.

Hey ladies!  So I'm a little confused about the documents we are supposed to send (i.e. - birth certificates, passports, etc.).  Are we supposed to make a photocopy of these documents and get the photocopies notarized?  I'm think that's what they meant but I wasn't sure and didnt' want to wasted FEDEX postage.  Thanks!

Yep, you're supposed to make copies of your birth certificates and your passports and then have those notarized, then send all that to Iberostar. I just sent ours out last week and it was $100 including the notary. sad.gif

The tracking info says they received it yesterday though! cheesy.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
