Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Do people have luck getting quotes from Tai Flora through their website form?  I submitted it yesterday, just wondering how long it will take, and if they will ever get back to me.  What kind of prices should I expect for something simple?  I just need 3 small BM bouquets of green orchids, two bouts, two corsages, and decorations for the arch (which is listed as $50+ in the Beach wedding info).  And a few simple centerpieces, the cheaper the better. lol.  I remember someone posting one that was $20, it was a tall glass vase filled with water and orchids. Just wondering what kind of prices to expect, I may need to start shopping for fake flowers.

I'm in a dilemma - trying to decide whether or not to have my guests stay at the Suites or the Grand. Our wedding will be at the Grand but we did a site visit at the Suites and thought it had a more "fun" and party type atmosphere than the Grand, plus my guests could stay longer at the Suites for what they would pay to stay at the Grand for only a few nights. Any input is greatly appreciated : )

Just remember if your guests stay at the Suites and the wedding is at the Grand there will be day passes and fees involved.

hi, susan!!

the suites and/or the beach are both beautiful properties...the suites definitely has a 'fun' vibe as does the beach....why not just move the wedding altogether?  to the suites and/or the beach?  personally, the beach has a better beach area for the wedding AND the prices are cheaper than the grand.

just thought i'd throw another wrench into it.  lol!!!

my wedding will be at the beach in 3 weeks...oh my!!!

good luck with your decision and as always, happy planning!!

hi futuremrstgun,

Thanks for the feedback. I actually tried going that route, however, my date is unavailable at the other properties so I really don't have a choice at this point : (

The Grand wants to charge $50 to anyone not staying there just to attend the wedding.

Congrats and good luck on your wedding! : )

If you get any feedback on the $20 centerpieces from them, I would love to hear about it.  I was just going to use my bridesmaid bouquets as my table centerpieces, but that $20 price would make things easier and the orchids in a vase filled with water would be exactly what I would want anyway.  I hope you get a response soon.  :)

Thanks!

I would say the Suites is a much more laid back feeling resort.  We stayed @ the Suites for 4 days and move to the Grand the day of the wedding to stay for another 5 days.  We spent most of our time back over at the Suites.  The Grand is elegant and grand, but the atmosphere was stuffy.  We went back and talked to our buddies at the front desk of the Suites and he told us most people who have stayed at the Suites prefer it.  He even mentioned that people have refused upgrades from the Suites to the Grand.  I never got over to the Beach property except for lunch at their beach front restaurant.  $50 a person to attend the wedding is steep but cheaper than what it would cost to stay at the Grand.  How big is your wedding guest list and is it something you would consider subsidizing for them?

Thanks eholt...We could consider having our guests pay for it in the group rate we got but I would rather try to get it waived altogether since we are going to be spending enough money on the wedding and reception alone at the Grand. I am going to try to negotiate to get it waived because my guests won't be using any of the facilities we won't already be paying for since they are only coming over for the wedding activities. How many guests did you have and did try to negotiate the $50 fee?

good luck with that love...

unfortunately, iberostar seems to be quite 'sticklers' for their fees and the fine print..ie, the wording 'pricing subject to change' on the wedding contract.  i'm trying to wrangle them in now about the whole vendor + day pass crap they're pulling on me..despite the fact that the contract i signed last year said only a vendor fee of $75 would apply.  not to mention the fact that so many other brides get things thrown in or paid for and others don't..the WC insists that's not the case but then you read things on here and find out otherwise... O M G!?!

if you're able to get it waived..please let us know..i think its some serious crap that they nickel and dime us..especially since its an all-inclusive.  now don't get me wrong..the resort is beautiful, food is good, atmosphere is truly everything..but GOOD GRIEF..can't the WCs and mgmt stop with charging for EVERY SINGLE DAMN THING...they have to make food, set up chairs, etc...EVERY DAY...ALL DAY and so i don't quite understand why they charge so much for weddings...its not like they're going to do much else than they do on a regular..i mean, goodness gracious!  make the food, set up the cake..and charge that for the one time fee...don't charge additional for any one over 8 people..or if you want to rent out the space..or if you want this or that..or if you use an outside vendor, etc..or if you decide to sneeze..and need tissues and/or if you want to brush you toes off..(just kidding)..but that's what i'm feeling like now...i mean..come on, people..

i'm just venting because i swear i feel like every single day there's some new charge being sprung on me and frankly, its starting to wear on my nerves... i truly hope the mgmt team starts reading blogs and getting the hint..i've already requested a meeting with mangement when i get there..cuz i'm SOOOOOOO over ALL of the fees.... SMDH!?!

omg I was seriously cracking up over this post...it is sooo true though! I am not even close to my wedding date and I feel like we will be spending a fortune. They also need to realize that we are BRINGING guests to THEIR resort...so it almost seems as if they should pay us or the wedding should be free lol. Without us getting married, they wouldn't have that business!!! I think we should start our own resort in Jamaica dedicated to offering affordable weddings!!!!!

Good luck with the meeting with management!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
