Yeah I would like to know the answer to that too...I will be changing my last name and my son and myself will need to be added immediately to my FI insurance.

Would it affect changing name or anything "major?"

Who gives the copy and did Nicole explain the delay?

I agree one day to remember.

I went with the Suites based on brides reviews and also trip advisor reviews.  I thought the suites would give guests more options and comfort.

And now to you and all the other ladies that have contemplated... Beach or Suites?? Need your help in deciding, what made you all choose one over the other?

Thanks!

8 months?  Now that is ridiculous.  My husband is already asking how much longer and it hasn't even been a month.  I'm in no hurry to change for work but I do want to change over soem other things.  What in the world?  I assumed that the copy of the registry they give you isn't legit enough for anything.

You get a copy of the marriage license and are supposed to get an "official" copy sent to you 3 months after the wedding.  Next week will be 8 months and we don't have that document yet.  I heard back from Nicole last week that they were behind and hopefully mine will be signed very soon.  I was able to use the copy for changing insurance (I didn't change my name) without any questions.

I also went with the Suites based on Trip Advisor reviews and the fact that guests will have more options for restaurants, lounging areas, etc... Both hotels are supposed to be fantastic though and I think I read somewhere that the ceremony site on the beach at the Beach side is actaully a bit nicer.

Hi Starrysim! I'm also having commitment issues with the photographer! Good to know that she is a bit negotiable.

I booked the trip around April. I can't remember what I was quoted for the Beach but for the Suites I was quote $1550 tax included, double occupancy, all inclusive out of Toronto from Saturday to Saturday. I believe the early booking bonus was around $250/ person... The price for a single room was a couple hundred more. Guests have to put down a $200 deposit now and then remainder is due in October. I had to search like crazy to get these prices!

The best quotes I got so far were $1590 for the Beach, and $1810 for the Suites for Saturday departures - waiting for them to go down a bit more before I book.  FWIW, they were higher when I first asked for quotes a few months ago ($1700 for Beach, $1900 for Suites).  I don't believe in "early booking bonuses."

Those are great prices - Beach or Suites, and what day of the week departure?  How early did you book?

I negotiated about $200-300 off Misha's cheapest package (the 3 hour one).  I'm still afraid to book her, I can't seem to commit!

Thanks for the contact... I just emailed the general inquiry off their website so I'll try the direct email. The more photographers I look into the better I'll feel about the decision! Thanks again!

Beachbum,

We payed $1887 per person from Toronto through Air Canada Vacations. Plus a $250 early booking bonus, so it was under $1600 for the beach resort. The suites quote was $2100. I didn't want my guests paying more than $2000 for our wedding, and the beach looks fantastic too! So that's why we chose it. We booked everything in February. Now the prices have gone up, but I'm sure they will go down again before we leave, and a few people will book last minute

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
