My TA is amazing!! She works for Avoya Travels which is an affiliate of American Express.  She has a lot of pull locking in pricing and what not.  She gets back to you in minutes sometime!! She's so nice and LOVES the extra planning (working with the WC) that I've needed some help with.  PM me if you want her info.

Wondering what everyone is doing for Photographers. I have been going back and forth on whether or not we should get one (due to my budget) but it just seems like they can capture so much more than anyone else could. What is everyone paying out there in cyber world? What do your packages include?

I am using SunGold Photography.  We did a site visit this past May and had engagement pictures done then, they came out AMAZING!!!!  Clayton is our photographer, we did the engagement shoot, wedding and are doing a trash the dress the next day, so 3 sessions and they gave us a package deal.  I definitely recomend checking out their website to see their pictures.

For Canadians staying here.. has anyone tried taking out cash at an ATM? Do they take Canadian bank cards? IS there an ATM on site?

Do servers prefer tips in US dollars or Jamaican Dollars?

The currency used most frequently fir tipping etc. was US dollars. Although I did see pricing in JA dollars. We only brought US (no Cnd) with us.

             Hi, All

Our TA is Ellen Paderson from Smiles & Miles Travel.  She is a family friend and is located in Boston.  Her prices for our dates were lower than the hotel.  Check out our deal on our wedding website.

Our wedding photographer is Sandy May.  She is from Minnesota (my home state) but lives in Jamaica during the winter months.  I found out about her from another IRHS brides.  I got a lot of quotes from different photographers and she was the best (plus it is just comforting to me to know I can go to her location in the U.S. should there be any issues).  My package is as follows:

            Wedding photography includes:

            *  Sandy May as photographer for 5 hours, overtime available @ $200 per hour

            *  Personal website for on-line viewing, editing, and print ordering on Pictage.com

            *  $100 US gift certificate toward prints ordered from Pictage.com

            * High resolution disc of all usable photos, color corrected and exposure adjusted with the copyright turned over to you

            * Iberostar day pass to be paid by client

            Fee...............................................................$ 1,400.00 US

            Deposit of $250.00 paid............................... -  250.00 US

            Deposit balance due....................................       216.00 US

            * Trash the dress option available:                             400.00 US
             pass paid by client
            Travel expense of $125

question for past brides... did guests bring wedding cards to your wedding?  my mom suggested getting a box/something cute to hold all the cards but then i was thinking - will people bring cards since they are on vacation/with us for a week??

We stayed at Tensing Pen after our wedding as well.  It was absolutely breathtaking! Make sure you walk over to Ivan's Bar for dinner one night- the Papaya Shrimp is amazing.

I didn't think anyone would travel with a card and was completely shocked that almost everyone did.

                      Hey Jreist,

The servers definitely prefer US dollars! :)

We took cash but I am quite sure there is ATM on the property. The reception desk also has alot of cash on hand for exchange to US/Jamaican dollars
