Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

I am using one of their associates, Ronald.  I filled out the form and then Paula and I emailed back and forth.  She was very responsive and answered all of my questions.  Now when I booked last year, she did tell me that she was home in TX at the time.  She had said that if I don't receive a response timely, they are probably in Jamaica and internet is spotty.  February seems like a long time with no response though.  Not sure if this helps at all, but good luck and I hope you are able to get in touch with them.

I was just wondering if anyone out there has used or is using Sungold for their wedding photographers? Whether its Paula and Damian or their associates. I've been trying to get in touch with them since February and I've sent them 2 FB msgs and I filled out the form on their website and I even called their contact number. Is it typical of them to take this long to respond? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks :)

After catching up on this thread, canceling my wedding at the grand appears to be the best wedding planning decision I've made thus far. I don't care how gorgeous the resort, I refuse to pay for incompetence. I'm West Indian and understand the concept of laid back island time. Waiting weeks on end for a simple email reply that never comes and leaving several unreturned messages isn't island time, it's lax and unprofessional. Don't get me started on the policy and price changes that vary depending on who replies. I'm not thrilled about planning an at home wedding, but I'm over the moon about vendors who return emails in 24 hours or less and know how to answer a goddamn phone. *vent over* lol

WORD!!!!!  My BIGGEST regret is dealing with Iberostar AT ALL!  I sincerely hope that once I get there (and they can't avoid me) the service/response is better.  But yeah, honestly, this experience has been anything but cute.  Waiting weeks, sometimes months, to respond to your client is unacceptable.  And this "island time" excuse is just that...AN EXCUSE!  I wish I could've cancelled my wedding there but unfortunately most of my guests are booked and excited to be coming.  But I would not recommend this resort to a bride.  It has been stressful not getting timely responses and then getting 'tude when I send multiple emails following up on the emails that have gone unanswered for weeks.  Oh, AND they NEVER admit when they are wrong or a mistake has been made.  I expressed my concerns about 2 couples' paperwork being lost recently and they responded that they have NEVER lost anyone's paperwork.  Huh???  So are they calling the brides on this forum liars?  SMDH!

Hey ladies I have a quick question!  I am getting ready to mail out the notorized copies of mine and FI's birth certificates and passports.  My question is for the birth certificates can I just make a copy like with a copy machine and then have the notory certify them or do I need to order one from the state?  Thanks!

Futuremrstgun,

Thanks for the heads up, "peeved" is definitely putting it lightly, I would have been livid.  Yes, very flattering for them to use your photos (and the picture was beautiful!!!) but how dare they take a precious and private moment for you and your husband and use it as a hot marketing campaign - let alone without your permission.  Unreal

Yeah, it's a weird thing...and I hope no other bride has the same experience. Wish someone would've warned me...apparently, the practice is widespread so BEWARE! :( R~

Thanks for all your advice ladies.  I emailed Paula at the Sungold email address and she got back to me within an hour.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
