Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

It's true akamikey11 regarding if you snooze you lose lol. We chose RG because really there isn't anyone else to choose from. You'd think as much weddings that occur in JA, more people would get into the videography business. I guess with me living in NY and as big and busy NY can I be, I expect other places to be the same. But it's true though, JA needs more videographers. Videos are important!

I saw a sample of each person's work and thought RG looked like better quality.

I emailed them, but they charge by the hour. Your date is almost here...I am still five months out :(

I am getting anxious by far

Our rooms were already paid in full through our agent before we arrived.  The only thing on my invoice for check-out was the wedding fees and they were exactly what Nicole and I had discussed before the wedding.

Depending on where you are financially I wouldn't waist money on an extra room not even for an hour. I would just kick the groom out, like I am doing. :) for the night before the wedding he is switching rooms with my cousin who has a single room. He will still hang out with his boys but they all have girlfriends and wives that are coming so he won't be staying in one of their rooms.

Also, i am just working on things as they come. Especially as i see good deals and ideas on BDW. For example, as soon as I seen all of the great welcome books on BDW I started working on them. I will be ordering my dress today. Depending on how long you have until your big day, I just say do things as they come. Don't Stress, the only thing so far that I have found to be severely time sensitive is ordering the dress. It can take 12-20 weeks for your dress to come back. that could be up to 5 months!! If you are like me and have less then 5 months left you should order it now! lol

Wondering about getting a suite for the day of for the bridesmaids and myself to get ready. Does anyone know if just having the room for a few hours would mean I would have to pay for the whole night? I would like a place for all the girls to get ready but if I have to pay for a whole night, I might just have it be our suite and just clean it up so we can enjoy it like it was new :-)

Also wondering if anyone has a good checklist they could share with me. I am about to send my SD's but looking for what I'm supposed to be working on next.

Thanks everyone and happy planning!

I love the idea! as a mater of fact If you don't get full participation on this you can send it to me after your wedding (like sisterhood of the traveling pants :))  My wedding is a month after yours.

If you haven't already you should start a thread so we can see who all would be interested. that way we could get a list going and have all the brides in order!. It may even be better to just mail it to everyone instead of leaving it with the WC. Like you said we don't want them just giving it to anyone :)

what does everyone think about instituting this for iberostar rosehall brides???

i'm on a starfish passing schedule right now..BUT...if we decide to coordinate one here...i'd be happy to participate...here's what i was thinking...some of us are marrying at the beach..some at the suites and others at the grande...

why don't those brides who are marrying at each respective resort participate?  we could use the starfish as our 'something borrowed' and then leave it with the WC for the next scheduled bride...i bet it could work..if you're at the beach, leave it there..the suites, leave it there..so on and so forth...of course, you'd have to know 'whose next'...we can't just leave the starfish for ANYBODY cuz they might not return it to the WC for the next bride...

i'm eager to hear ya'lls thoughts on this?  my big day isn't until october so if i 'coordinate' it it won't happen until then..however, if there's someone with a wedding date sooner who might already have a starfish for their bouquet..maybe we could start it earlier...

please let me know how ya'll feel about this...

can't wait to hear from my fellow iberostar rosehall brides!!!

There are cash machines but I wouldn't plan on using it for a number of reasons...

There is usually a withdrawl limit

You dont want your credit card company or bank to block your card for suspicious activity since you will be out of the country.

The surcharges on the ATM's are out of control (so I heard)

I think I am going to split everyone's money into separate envelopes and lock it up in the room when I get there. Also, they charge the room then pay the DJ from that unless you are getting an outside DJ. The DJ does collect tips up front though.

You should clarify with the WC.

OMG yes! I emailed him a couple months ago and he sent me a million emails a week for 4 weeks. Although its annoying I must say it's better than waiting weeks for a response. I decided not to go with him because I was really not comfortable with sending him money via Western Union especially since there really wasn't a significant price difference between him and Tai Flora.

Also, is anyone using Godfrey for flowers/decorations? I e-mailed him yesterday and I'm pretty sure he called me at least 10 times within a 5 hour period and would not leave me alone. It was quite annoying seeing as how my wedding is almost a year away. He also told me he has to order all of his flowers from overseas which surprised me seeing as how Jamaica is tropical and you'd think they'd have plenty of flowers on the island?? Also, the prices he quoted me for bouquets and centerpieces really didn't seem that much cheaper than the hotel's prices through Tai Floral.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

I think this is a great idea!  Like other brides have mentioned I think starting a thread for this would make things easier.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
