Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Hey Maura,

Do you think it would be better for me to have my ceremony at 4 or 4:30? What time did the sun go down/start getting dark? How long did the ceremony run? I'm going to have a cocktail hour as well followed by the reception. Let me know what you think.

Hi Brides!

I am using a destination wedding travel agent who has quoted me $200/night/person for Aug. 2011. for the Suites.  I saw on Expedia from Newark, NJ 3 nights hotel + air is about $900.  The travel agent says she will match the lowest price/shop around with wholesalers to find promos. Not sure what that means but once I book my trip with her hopefully this will make sense.  The TA told me she booked a wedding for May 2011 for $142night/person at the Suites.  Hopefully she can get me a deal like that for our guests!  Air is averaging $340/person/roundtrip from Newark, NJ.

Hey DeAngelis:

I live in Yonkers. We advised our guests that they can stay as long as they want. My TA had sent me a sample travel wedding calendar so that's why I had the 5 days/4nights. I do realize it is ideal for people to travel in for 4 days though and then decide if they want to come earlier or stay later. So assuming most people do arrive the day before the wedding, I guess besides the wedding rehearsal, we'd also have to have the meet and greet at the same time which can work itself out and be the rehearsal dinner. Perhaps I'll make that change on our website.

Your wedding date is 12/3/11 or am I mistaken? That's actually my best friend's/maid of honor's birthday :) Congrats!

The flights just came out for my wedding wedding weekend so I'm telling all the guests to start booking so they get a great rate for a direct flight. We are telling most of our guests to come for 4 days/3 nights and if they want or can stay longer we encourage it. To some guests who don't really have the money to come, it might seem like alot when you are asking them to come for 5 days. I believe the min of nights you can stay at the Iberostar is 3 nights.  I'm having my wedding on a Saturday so people only have to take off Thursday and Friday from work. In the end, the people who want to be there will do whatever it takes to make it happen. Just ingnore anyone that's being negative of giving you a headache...the only thing that matters is the man of your dreams waiting for you at the alter.

Where do you live in NY? I grew on Long Island and my FI in Brooklyn. :)

Right now rates @ the Suites I see are $373 per night. I just did a general online search for air & room and it's about $1,010 pp for 5 days/4nights. In a way I'm starting to wonder if we should've picked a less "luxurious" hotel and went to a resort that's practical for all. My fiance feels differently. He said we can't please everyone, which I understand, but I don't want to hear people bickering either. I'm just going to pray about it and hope everything works out in the end.  After all this is supposed to be a happy time in our lives.

We announced at our engagement party in August 2010 that we were doing a destination wedding to give all of guests and bridal party more than enough time to book. Both my fiance and I are in sales so we've been informing (selling) our guests about the hotel and airline rates, I could prob do this for a living and it's only been a couple of months lol. I'm extremly suprised that I have guests and flights booked before my STD even went out. Some of our guests said that they will be using their tax return to purchase their flight.

You need to get your guests excited about their vacation and how much fun they're going to have with all your closet family and friends.

Up until now not one guest has booked a room for our wedding. Granted we gave them the option of booking through our TA or booking on their own. A part of me feels like many of them are waiting for their tax return before make a move. My fiance and I are going to be booking our room at the of this month, as our TA told us we had more than enough time. But still it'd be exciting to see at least a few people book, ya know?

Hey Ladies,

I was feeling the same way a few months ago.  As of right now i have 14 people booked 60 coming lol. I am not sure where those 46 people are staying :) But don't let it stress you out. Just focus on your special day. Your closest loved one will be there and that's all that really matters. I was stressed about price/who was coming but i had to just move on and be happy I am marrying the love of my life! :)

It will all work out the way it should girls!!!

Ugrades are based on availibility. If a room is available an upgrade is possible, but not guaranteed. No one can guarantee an upgrade until you are actually at the resort and there is a room available.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
