Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Hey BridetwoBe and Islandgirl-

Actually- I have already started having people back out... Ive stressed cried and screamed so much that now all I can do is LOL!!  I am now down to 10 adults confirmed.. Still waiting for 5 or 6 to bbook and debating on taking 6 children... Im very excited just finding myself having a hard time making decisions about the reception... With so few people I really dont want to pay for a private reception.  I just got a response from Nicole that says if you dont pay for a private reception you cant have music because you are sharing the space with regular diners, so that kind of kills what I have planned.

Im very excited, Im starting to really plan my decor and all sorts of stuff but I honestly cannot wait until we leave.. I am really looking forward to the time away after all of this...  By the way most of my guests called and put their deposits in on the deadline date...

I konw you are excited...your day is close! I really need a hairstyle with this wind. Maybe i'll get a long hairsprayed hard spiral curl sew in to the side...lol

Right now rates @ the Suites I see are $373 per night. I just did a general online search for air & room and it's about $1,010 pp for 5 days/4nights. In a way I'm starting to wonder if we should've picked a less "luxurious" hotel and went to a resort that's practical for all. My fiance feels differently. He said we can't please everyone, which I understand, but I don't want to hear people bickering either. I'm just going to pray about it and hope everything works out in the end.  After all this is supposed to be a happy time in our lives.

We announced at our engagement party in August 2010 that we were doing a destination wedding to give all of guests and bridal party more than enough time to book. Both my fiance and I are in sales so we've been informing (selling) our guests about the hotel and airline rates, I could prob do this for a living and it's only been a couple of months lol. I'm extremly suprised that I have guests and flights booked before my STD even went out. Some of our guests said that they will be using their tax return to purchase their flight.

You need to get your guests excited about their vacation and how much fun they're going to have with all your closet family and friends.

Up until now not one guest has booked a room for our wedding. Granted we gave them the option of booking through our TA or booking on their own. A part of me feels like many of them are waiting for their tax return before make a move. My fiance and I are going to be booking our room at the of this month, as our TA told us we had more than enough time. But still it'd be exciting to see at least a few people book, ya know?

Mrs.Deloatch2be...girl I even said to myself, despite people "rsvping yes" they're coming, I won't believe anything until they've book their rooms and more importantly book their flight as well. At this point if we get 40 people I'll be glad, if we get 20 I'll be glad too, whichever way it works out, I just want a great time with my hubby to be on our special day. I do want a private reception though. It sucks because I can't even put a deposit down for the DJ until I am sure we will have the required amount of people necessary and booked in order to have one. Aye yi...the "joy" of planning I tell ya. Let's look on the bright when it's all said and done and we are all married, we can all look back a year from our wedding dates and rejoice!!

Ladies, you're posts couldn't have come at a better time. I too am STRESSING that no one will come to our wedding as I don't believe anyone until they actually book as well. It's definitely difficult to plan a reception when you have no idea of how many people are attending. As you know that dictates location, food, quantity of OOT bags, essentially EVERYTHING!

I think I am just going to let it go and put it in God's hands. I will have an massive ulcer way before June if I keep stressing about this. I really do think we have to focus on the fact that regardless of who is in attendance, it will be one of the most important days of our lives and it will be shared by the two most important people, you and your husband.

Now, I just need to keep repeating that to myself.......rolleyes.gif

Ladies~

I felt the same way a few months back. My FI and I actually sat down and talked about how we need to be comfortbale with it "possibly" being just the two us at the wedding. Not like that is very likely, but many people may not be able to go and some back out. I am getting married June 6, 2011 and have already had a few back out...one being a BM!!!

Just think that this is your special day for you and your man, and all that matters is the two of you are there to celebrate and get married!!! Keep your heads up ladies!!!

Thank you!

My flowers were all dendrobium orchids.  Mine were all purple (with white centers) and the girls were mostly purple with some white orchids throughout.  I loved the way they turned out!  Let me know if you have any other questions :)

Thank you!  The wedding was at 4:30 (but I ran a bit late) and the cocktail hour was 5:30-6:45 and the reception from 7:00-11:00.  It worked perfectly!

Half of my guests are leaving from Newark the other half will be leaving from JFK. The flights just came out for my wedding wedding weekend so I'm telling all the guests to start booking so they get a great rate for a direct flight. We are telling most of our guests to come for 4 days/3 nights and if they want or can stay longer we encourage it. To some guests who don't really have the money to come, it might seem like alot when you are asking them to come for 5 days. I believe the min of nights you can stay at the Iberostar is 3 nights.  I'm having my wedding on a Saturday so people only have to take off Thursday and Friday from work. In the end, the people who want to be there will do whatever it takes to make it happen. Just ingnore anyone that's being negative of giving you a headache...the only thing that matters is the man of your dreams waiting for you at the alter.

Where do you live in NY? I grew on Long Island and my FI in Brooklyn. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
