Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

Thank you Albellis!  Last I heard from my TA, she said they have availability April 23, 24, 25...so if that holds true, we will not be far apart at all!  Thanks for the information...I think the semi-private dinner would be fine for us as well.  I know I can make these decisions later, we are just trying to budget.  Being that your wedding is also April, how far along are you in regards to planning?  Have you done anything in regards to the resort, besides book at date?  I know I am a bit behind, but i am such a bad planner!  Thank God for this site!!

I haven't done too much planning specifically with the resort. When I confirmed my date, I asked when they typically start to finalize the details, and they said about 3 months before the wedding. So I have been working on the details that aren't dependent on the resort over the past couple of months, and have been keeping a list of questions for the resort as that date gets nearer. I will send you a PM with some more specific details.

I am getting married at the suites and they also said many things don't get finalized until closer too. I am planning much farther than all of you and it drives me nuts that there is not much I can finalize :-) this site has been fantastic read all the past blogs because I have gotten great ideas from them! I just recently had Tai Flora contact me to start pricing for flowers. Although they seem quite pricey they look like they have beautiful flowers :-) keep me updated also on planning ladies!!! ;)

Hello ladies!

I am sure this has been answered somewhere before, but does anyone know how long it takes to get your marriage license? Do they give it to you right then & there after you sign it or do they have to mail it to you later? I am asking because my fiance is in the military and we will need our marriage license quickly in order for me to get under his insurance, benefits, housing etc. I have been reading through the threads and some said it took about 6 months to get it while others said they got it right after the ceremony. We may have to secretly get married at the courthouse before we go!

We are also going to get married in the states before we go.  I read somewhere 1-3 months before you get your marriage license and we don't want to wait that long!  Another question I have...does anyone know what types of liquor they have at the beach resort?  We like Jack Daniels and Absolute (or other decent) vodka.  Is this included or can we pay extra for it?  If at all?  Thanks again to everyone for the responses!  Very helpful!

The liquor gets better as you go up in Resorts so at the Beach I do not believe that they have Absolute or Jack Daniels.  I know the Suites has Absolute and the Grand has even more name brand selection.  This was my experience anyways and something I and a couple of my guest noticed as we stayed at the Suites but occasionally went to the Beach and they did not have the some of the choices we had at the Suites.

It took almost 6 mo or better for me to get our marriage license from the resort.  I was actually able to get it earlier because I was tired of waiting and went online to the registrar general and submitted a form payed $80 and got 6 copies or our marriage license 10 days after my submission.  I did not submit the request till about 3 to 4 mo after our wedding but I am guessing if you did this online sooner you would be able to get your license pretty quick.  They give you "a certified copy" at the wedding but there is no raised seal or anything on it so most places will most likely not accept this.

Hi Ladies,

We got married at the Suites April 2012 but stayed at the Grand. As posted by vbbbtk, the Grand has the most premium liquores. As you go to the Suites and Beaches you notice that the selection is limited. I had to get a few drinks to go from the Grand when I was visiting guests at Suites.

I want to play a few drinking games with my guests. For this I'd like to be able to have a lot of shots to give the guests. I have no problem bringing in little 1 oz plastic shot glasses (40/$1 at dollarama), but don't want to bother the bartenders with filling them up. I would be glad to pay them a handsome tip if you guys think they would be willing to indulge me, but otherwise, do you know if there is a liquor store nearby that I could buy a few bottles?

I've heard you can buy it in the airport on the way into Jamaica. Does anyone know if this is true? And if it is before customs or after (and therefore if I would have to pay duty)?

I'd prefer to buy near the resort since I know I have a LOT of luggage at the airport that I will have to deal with!

Hey girls! Right now, my fiance and I have set a date at the Beach for 8/31/2013 (Labor day weekend)! We are nervous, though, because August and September are the peak hurricane months. We're looking into traveler's insurance, but I was wondering what everyone thinks about this date. Think it's a bad idea?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
