Congrats MrsRice and welcome back!! Thanks for posting a quick review. Wow re the hair salon. My mom, my maid of honor and I are planning on getting our hair done at the spa. I'm actually going to schedule a hair trial so I can know if the stylist knows what she's doing. Sorry to hear the DJ sucked - the DJ for your wedding is whom you're referring to right? I don't know they didn't let the dj from the disco dj your wedding. Did you use Tai Flora or another florist? Look forward to your reply or your review if you get around to it. cheers.gif

Sorry I didn't have time to post before I left for my wedding on June 13, 2011 but I'm home now.... my review may take me weeks to post b/c I returned to a busy schedule but I just wanted to say short and sweet that Nicole and Tiffany are AMAZING. I'm still a newbie and I don't have a planning thread or many pics up online but I'm certain from what I've read so far that many of you are as detailed as I am with planning. You've probably sent dozens of e-mails and revised your last minute wedding details sheet a few times and you will probably be adding things all the way up until the last minute day before your wedding. I want to ease your worries and tell you that the last wedding details sheet and maybe a photo or two is all you really need. Nicole is very organized and will send a letter to your room to confirm your meeting with her upon your arrival. She has your wedding details and confirms your choices on the spot. She will even give you a tour to select your wedding ceremony location, cocktail reception, dinner etc. She is very patient and friendly. Her assistant Tiffany is sweet and will go over the wedding rehearsal with you and your bridal party. She will accommodate most wishes on the spot (i.e. things like who walks down the aisle first, groomsmen w/ bridesmaids etc. . The rehearsal is very informal just a basic walk through, no music no minister..but no worries you don't need it. Be sure to show them pics of any decor you want set or demonstrate and you will be fine. Tiffany stayed with us the entire night..my ceremony was at the lazy river, champagne and steel pan band on balcony terrace, dinner @ Gourmet and dancing @ music bar. Tiffany and Nicole escorted the guest to each location..it flowed smoothly and I didn't have to worry about a thing.

My wedding was amazing despite a few bumps that I would say take heed to....sorry I don't remember names.

1) Salon, not all stylist are created equal. My bridesmaids hair turned out awesome. Mine was a tragedy that left me in tears. The salon manager convinced me to go with another stylist (my bridesmaids) and my hair turned out almost perfect. I tweaked it a bit in my room until it was perfect.

2) Not all DJ's are created equal. The DJ @ the disco is awesome. The DJ I was given sucked!!!!! badly. My brother stepped in to co-DJ which helped.

Lastly. Iberostar is Fabulous. No worries mon! Enjoy the time you have with family and friends...the wedding day flies by.

Feel free to ask me any q's.

Happy Planning

Do you remember the DJ's name that rocked? I want to be sure I request a good DJ. I heard DJ Cordell does a good job.

Does anyone have some sort of schedule they used for planning?  I'm trying to figure out what I need to do after these STDs are done.  Btw, here is a pic of the envelope we are making.  My fiancé has been AMAZING.  He basically just jumped in and designed the whole thing with the materials I chose (pays to marry and Engineer because he's a damn perfectionist right now).  He's done a lot of cutting and measuring and template making.  They are turning out GREAT.  It's really cool to see how involved and excited he is for the planning.  The boarding passes are not done yet, I'm just indecisive about the layout.

Past Brides-

A few questions about how did you pay your final bill:

Cash or Credit Card?

Do you pay the bill before wedding and pay upon checkout?  It states both on the estimated charges sheet- which one is correct? It seems like most brides pay upon check-out.

Does the DJ have to be paid in cash before the wedding as it states on the estimated charges sheet?

Trying to figure out how much cash I have to bring since we have to pay Marcia Roberts.

Thanks in advance

I paid with credit card upon check-out! well actually a few days after transferring to the Grand! :)  Not sure abotu DJ since I didn't use it.  I traveled with cash for photographer, make-up and tips.  Everything else went on CCard.

    • Hi everyone, I am so happy that I am getting married to the love of my life. He proposed me and we are getting married within in a couple of months. And I have started preparations for my big day. I am super excited about a lot of things and also worried about many things.I have some inhibitions about my face and skin. Since I am a working woman, I have never got much time for personal care. This is the right time for it now. I need  proper medical grade skin care. Want to improve my skin tone and texture  I read some details about it here, https://www.mcleanclinic.com/nonsurgical-procedures/non-surgical/skin-care/, and found it really helpful. Can anyone of you suggest me some more tips? Like what I can do at home to have a glow on my face?  Thanks in advance.
    • I think you should approach the dentist. That would be the best idea as of now.
    • I think that would be a great idea. I have tried it once and loved it.!
    • That's really sweet. I am sure she would love that.!!
