I want to get a good DJ but it seems most of the past Jamaican brides went the Ipod route...
The reception music is really important to us so we're bringing a friend who's a dj down with us to do the music, even though we'll have to pay to use the resort's equipment and their dj automatically comes with it. Apparently they don't want anyone else using their equipment unsupervised, so the resort's dj has to at least be there. I think they said it's because they don't want to music to be too loud, and also Nicole mentioned that the equipment isn't very easy to operate.
Nicole said their equipment plays cds but doesn't hook up to Ipods as far as she knows. sad.gif I would guess that the Beach and Suites use the same dj equipment but not totally sure.

I am getting married at the Grand, and my WC, Pilar, said that the DJ equipment can hook into ipods and cds. I am not sure if it is the same one as the Suites uses, but maybe you could have them borrow it if it's not already being used at the Grand on your wedding night.

I'm really confused about how to get our wedding date booked at the IRHS. I emailed the resort a week ago requesting to know if 11/6/2010 is still available. I haven't heard anything back. So I asked my travel agent how we go about getting it booked and she said that we can't reserve the date until we book the actual trip (hotel and flight). That just doesn't make sense. I'm not going to book the trip if I don't know for sure that the date I want is available. Is my travel agent right or does anyone know how to get the date reserved?

Danielle, that definitely doesn't make sense! I had my date reserved months before I booked my room, and I still haven't booked my flight yet. I e-mailed the resort and they let me know if my date was available and sent me some forms to fill out and send back. Try e-mailing them again, maybe they over-looked the first e-mail.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
