Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

Greetings,

I have been a member of this forum for quite some time and I am now officially engage!! However, my FI is afraid that his family will not travel out the country for the wedding. I really, really want a destination wedding and must convince him that this is the best option for us. I see that Iberostar has 3 different option and can accommodate every price point and thinking this will work for our guests. However, I am wondering about the differences in the 3 properties and would love to see the 2011 Pricelist. I want to get married Oct 22 or 28, 2011 if it's still available. DECISIONS, DECISIONS, DECISIONS. Please help!!!!!!!!!!

I am probably making it hard on myself to get the initial information because I do NOT want to use Uncle Tony's because I don't want the stress of trying to host a reception with decorated tables and a dj and all that stuff that I thought I got to avoid my doing a destination wedding.

I email the WC but she keeps sending me the same information over and over again...pics of the locations and the "extra" services menu that doesn't have very much detail.

My plan at this point is this...

ceremony- I want the decor simple so I thinking I can bring some fabric for a little something extra and call it a day. I am not dong a bridal party so flowers would only be for me and if I wanted some for the arch which I think I can do without. I am curious about the chairs though....do covers cost extra or what do plain chairs look like? I really want to see what the set-up looks like with someone who didn't go with extra's...but I can't open attachments and this site works SOOOOOOO slow on my computer that I don't think I'll ever get enough posts and stuff to be able to. Do you know what the flowers or any of the "decoration" that comes with the package are?

-The chairs and cover come part of the package.  Tai Flora can provided more elegant chairs.  They cost $8.50/chair

Dinner- I really want to do the Japanese steak house. We love them and think it would be a fun dinner. I can't get a straight answer on if they can accomodate my whole party though (about 50, 60 tops people). Also, they seem to always talk about renting it to be private for $800..which I am NOT doing. I'm working with a budget and I don't care if it's private I just want to eat and be done. Maybe we'd great everyone on their way in since we probably wouldn't do a speech or anything at the restaurant.

-Sorry I don't know the answer to this one, as I'm having my reception at Uncle Tony's.

Cocktail hour(s)- After dinner, then I'd like to do a cocktail hour or two either by the pool or on the beach. This is where we would do our thank you speech and dance. Do you know if they would they provide a cd player or ipod dock for a cocktail hour...and would they charge for that?

-They have a cd player/ipod doc for the wedding ceremony.  They may let you borrow it as long as there are no weddings that day.

Then just go to the disco to dance/party

Any thoughts or things you think I should think about with this? I appreciate any feedback or information I may want to consider doing it this way. Please help :) and if anyone can reply with pictures or a link in the post vs. doing an attachment you will make my day!!!!!!

Hi tlogan00,

CONGRATS!! I would say first order of buisness is to email the wedding coordinators and check if your dates are available. Iberostar in Jamaica is VERY busy so make sure you do that first to you don't get disspointed. You can always cancel and that's better than it not being avaible for when you want it. I am paritial to the suites property because that where i was married :) BUT the beach resort was beautiful as well! If you get married at the suites though you have access to all the resturants and activity at the beach hotel as well. The grand doesn't allow for children and it alot pricer than the other two. But you might be able to score some deals which would save your guests alot of money.

:)

Sounds like this may actually have costs of the detail stuff that seems so elusive?!?!?!? I would LOVE to get my hands on one of these from IRHB. Any past brides still have theirs and be willing to share? Please :) Thanks,

i'm an IRHB bride, set to jump the broom on 10.8.11..while i've been on the site in the past, i've just started posting as i feel like my countdown is ticking away..quickly.

i spent today reading most of the posts and i have to say, i'm thoroughly excited with my choice of Iberostar Rose Hall Beach.  my fiance and i had the pleasure of witnessing several weddings at the IRHS resort when we visited last year..we actually stayed at the Suites but chose the Beach as our wedding site due to the number of anticipated guests and some will be bringing children.

anyway, just thought i'd say 'hi' and THANKS for the insight!

R~

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
