Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Hi Strelkam, you don't have to do much before hand really.  I opted to do oot bags for guests and had a blast filling them, however I had to keep my now husband in check, he wanted to get more and more and more...  I took some chair sashes with me and fabric for the huppa, dresses and oot bags for everyone.  it was beautiful and almost entirely stress free.  My favorite memory of the wedding festivities was the morning of the wedding I went to breakfast by myself (hubby sleeping in) and then went to the pool for some alone time until family found me.  Went upstairs to shower and get room service then get ready with the photographers.  How many people (who do traditional weddings) can say they laid by the pool with a cocktail for 2 hours before their wedding!!!!!

Oh and for the other people asking about salon services, I didn't use them except for a couples massage, but guests did for hair and manicures and had great results.

Enjoy the wedding and all the time with FI, family and friends, it will go by way too fast!

I have been reading this forum for months but never added because I was not engaged (dating for 5 years with a promise of engagement).  My FI and I just got engaged this NYE!  We've been talking about getting married for a while and we wanted to have a destination wedding in Jamaica.  After reading your reviews and doing a lot of homework before our engagemented, we are looking at booking Rose Hall Suites in early December.  We have been speaking with a TA for almost a year now and she has been great.  I'm really nervous about planning a wedding.  I have a large opinionated family and a lot of friends.  They have already  made remarks as to the cost of a trip to Jamaica and "suggestions" of what we should do.  Im excited to get married but not excited to plan.   I thought for a destination wedding I could just sort of show up and everything would be done.  Now I'm seeing that there are a lot of additional things that brides are including that I would never even think of.  I was hoping to just pick out some dresses but it looks like I'm going to have to roll up my sleeves and get dirty :)   Any advice would be wonderful!!!!

Breeze: I can't believe your Mom made your dresses! You guys looked absolutely amazing!

My fiance likes the suits your husband and groomsmen wore, can you please provide more details about their suits...Is it the regular linen suit, what color linen did they order, did they wrinkle badly? I like the weight of Linen but hate how it wrinkles and looks messy at the end of the day.

MrsDeloatch: What color did your fiance get?

Thank you for any info you can provide!

Hi girls!!  I'm brand new this website and to planning as I just got engaged on December 14th!  My FI and I are planning a DW and after my somewhat obsessive (okay, very obsessive) searching I think Iberostar Rose Hall Suites is at the top of our list.  I have a few questions and any input you all can give would be great!  First of all, how far in advance did you begin contact with the planner?  I'm looking at a June 2012 date so I realize I'm probably a little premature in my efforts but I really have no idea of DW time lines.  Did any of you go visit the resort before booking your wedding?  I'm VERY nervous about booking sight unseen.  If you did, is it worth doing?  Also, I've read that some resorts offer some sort of reimbursement if you visit and tour the resort for your wedding and choose to book there.  Anyone know if that is the case with Iberostar?  I'm sure I will have many more questions for you ladies but I won't overload you tonight!

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide and I'm so excited to get planning!

Grace

Congrats to all of the newly engaged and booked and planning!!  I'm right there with you planning for a November 2011 DW at IRHS.  My save the dates are at the printer, our trip is booked, wedding date confirmed....and now working on the OOT bags.  I am having so much fun with them!  We decided to do beach towels instead of bags.  I know that the resort provides towels, but I thought it would be something that both guys and girls would use again and hopefully something to clue people in at the pool/beach that they are there for the same wedding (since they have matching towels).  I'm still working on other things to go with the towels...so many ideas!!

Anyone include postcards in their OOT bags?  I thought it would be cool to have a postcard of the resort or something that you would find at the gift shop, but all I'm coming up with online are sites that let you make your own.

We ordered "Tan Linen" which I guess is like a" came"l colored linen.  Of course he hasnt worn it yet, but the construction of it is very nice... Its not real thin like some linens and doesnt seem like it will wrinkle easily.. but I am definitely interested to here Breeze's thoughts.

I am actually going to order him a lighter one.. so that he can chose which one he wants to wear for the wedding or rehearsal dinner...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
