Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys:

I have been so busy lately that I haven't had time to log into the forum. So much has happened!!!!!!! I am really surprised to hear that the beaches is closing. This is a little concerning. I really hope that they don't try to squeeze more than one wedding per day to accomodate the brides from beaches. I am going to call them today.

What is TDD photos? Someone made reference to it in an earlier email but I have no idea what that means.

I also bought my dress and i am really excited about it!! I have to start thinking about what I am going to bring as a welcome pack for my guest.

WIll keep you all posted after my conversation with the wedding planners at suites.

Oh Dear! thanks Maureen, for looking into that for us...

There are a few Iberostar resorts that have temp closed due to low occupancy from the bad economy. Just google it and you'll find all the articles. This is not boding well with me. Nice that they'll re-open, but what is this going to do to staff morale!?!

Good thing I still have alot of time. I may have to go back to the drawing board sad.gif I really hope other companies aren't planning on following suit!!

Hi Ladies!!

I was just coming on to post the info about the Beach Resort closing but you beat me to it!! I hope this doesn't affect anyone, because I would hate for anyone to have to experience any added stress!!

daifje, I think you are speaking of TTD which means trash the dress. Lots of brides on here are having day after photo sessions on the beach, in the pool, out in the local towns, etc.

The person who was going to do our cake let me know today that she just found out she is expecting and won't be able to do it since her due date is close to the wedding date. She said she'll put me in touch with another good baker in Montego Bay so hopefully I hear something back soon.

The photographer is the main thing I haven't worked out yet. I have seen a lot of photographers' work that I like but I wasn't prepared to spend over $2K. I may end up asking a friend to do it if I can't find anyone with a good price who does photo-journalistic style.
Hello Ladies,

I am new to this forum but have read through most of the old posts and I love it! All the information is so helpful and it helped me to decide on IRHS for my wedding. My date isn't until October 2010 but I've been thinking about trying to find an outsider baker for the wedding cake because I really don't like the pictures of cakes that Nicole sent me.

NegrilLB, what baker are you using for your cake? Could you send me her contact info and the name and contact info of the other baker she gives you?

Hi nashidab, the baker I was going to use is Caryn and her email is: membami@hotmail.com

She is based in Mobay but I believe she goes back and forth between JA and the States, so you'll have to confirm with her if she is going to be able to be in JA at the time of your wedding.

She hasn't responded with the other baker's contact info so I haven't found anyone to replace her yet. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Hi ladies, I'm warning you this is going to be me venting..... but I need your help.

So, I think I might have made a mistake by booking my wedding @ IRHS. My TA suggested that we get married in Jamaica for many reasons. One of the reasons being that you can usually get the wedding for FREE.

Well, I decided on this resort as soon as I saw the pictures and read the reviews. Without looking at the price of the wedding. Which is $2000 plus another $18.00 for every person over 8.

Okay, I just feel like the majority of the stuff on this wedding package is a waste of money for us.

First off, I want to bring my own bouquets and boutonniers b/c I need them for my bridesmaids also. Plus I want them for my AHR b/c we hired a photographer for that (we are taking pics here at home b/c the reception) and I don't want to buy flowers twice. So if I buy fake ones I can bring them back and fourth with me.

2nd, the 2 bottles of champagne, well we don't drink champagne (none of us do)

the 12 pictures, well their pictures are way to expensive so we are bringing our own photographer ( I will want more than 12 pics) so I don't need that either. And the "just married" t-shirts" and the fruit basket/wine (it's an all-inclusive resort, there's plenty of fruit there)

I just feel like they are throwing some of this in to make it look like your getting something for your $2000.

Anyway, I'm not a cheap person I just don't like to waste money. We are on a budget! This wedding package might be great for some people but it's not fitting for us.

My question is...... Has anyone talked to the wedding coordinator at IRHS and asked if we could modify the wedding package to fit our needshuh.gif?? I don't think you can I just figured it was worth asking about.

Thank you for allowing me to vent.

Hi Taylorbride,

I think that the RIU resorts offer free weddings.

Here is the link to reviews by two other brides that got married at the suites:

And here are some photos that Sparkles took at the resort. There is some pics of the Huppa. I seriously doubt anyone has exact measurements. I'm just gonna guesstimate how much I'll need.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
