Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

Hi Krista,

I had looked into photos at the Cinnamon Hill Golf Course- Aquaduct. Here is the response I got from them back in April:

In order to take pictures you can deal directly with me as I set up the date and organize the payment and the transport on the property. The cost for pictures is $250 per hour. This allows for three persons to go around on a four seater golf cart from the clubhouse to the aquaduct. Please let me know if you would like to go ahead and reserve a cart and also a time.
Thanks Robert Ames, PGA Director of Golf Cinnamon Hill Golf Course Rose Hall, Jamaica (O) 1.876.953.2984 [email protected]

Maybe that is what I remember seeing... thank you! There has to go be somewhere beautiful that won't charge us a ridiculous fee just to be taking photos there...? I'll keep researching but the Aquaduct is so beautiful. I wish I could swing that into my budget... maybe I need to pick up a part time job in addition to my full time one! :)

Did you decide you were going to do that? If so, so jealous! Your pictures are going to be stunning!

Just had my 70 person wedding at The Grand, ceremony on the beach, reception at port maria. It was the best time of my life, wouldn't have changed a thing. We had a bonfire the night before which was so much fun. The wedding coordinators Syrecka and Janelle were AMAZING, best in the business. Took care of every little thing and they were both so sweet everyone loved them. The Grand ceremony and reception setup is breathtaking. Food and drinks were nonstop and so yummy. The flowers from Tai Flora were gorgeous and Misha Earle was awesome. I was most worried about the DJ but DJ Juvenile was perfect. we told him ahead of time, no lame group songs, no slow dances, just fun party music, lots of great top 40, dance, hip hop, and that's exactly what he did. He had every new song and everyone raved about him.

We did do first dance, and then a mom/son father/daughter at the same time. We did it right away and super short just to get them over with :)

Bah, lol. Yeah I wasn't sure either. Other resorts had told us you had to pay the minister fees regardless, and Iberostar did tell me before that he could perform a symbolic ceremony, but I hadn't specified about legal at the time. We were originally going to the legal thing beforehand with my uncle, but since he's coming now anyways, I figured down there would be better. :)

I found an answer from the FB page !!! Another bride said she had her dad who is a minister do her ceremony, but the Jamaican minister had to pronounce them and sign the marriage certificate.

AhhhH!! Thanks for the answer!! Haha, the resort replied and told us we could have him do a symbolic ceremony but still have the wedding package we wanted as well, so we might just do that!

Have him marry us legally in Ontario 5 months prior with just our parents there, then do the ceremony in Jamaica too! :)

Question....how did you handle the down payments for the outside vendors? I feel nervous sending someone I've never met/ so far away money via western union or deposit into their account??
It's definitely scary sending deposits to vendors you haven't met, but I trusted sending to tai flora and misha earle since they are both respected vendors.

Tai flora is the hotels's connection so no worry there but the private vendors raises some concern since its so many months in between. I guess we have to just "trust" and go with the reputable vendors only.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
