I'm sure there's some certifications or something he'd have to look into, and I've inquired with the resort but haven't heard back just yet so I thought I'd check with you ladies!

I'm not really sure how that works actually ... I originally was going to say yes you could, however the minister the resort provides has all the paperwork and stuff for your marriage license and is responsible for getting everything filed.

But the resort photographer did take pictures, when we went to view them they were TERRIBLE! we didnt even get the 12 that were included because they were THAT bad. Please please invest in an outside photographer so you have pretty pictures of your special day!

I am with kfarkas26 !!! Misha Earle is AMAZING !!! She photographed our wedding and TTD session as well ... waiting anxiously for the pics !! We didn't buy a single picture from DigiPix, not only were they ridiculously expensive, but I took better pictures with my camera ! We had considered buying a group pic they took the night of the rehearsal dinner, but I wasn't willing to spend the $15 they wanted for one 5x7 picture ! I will say however ... we did use Digipix to do our video for the ceremony, and we really loved it. If you don't want to spend $1000 + (and that's the cheap end) on a photographer, you should consider the resort videographer :)

Bah, lol. Yeah I wasn't sure either. Other resorts had told us you had to pay the minister fees regardless, and Iberostar did tell me before that he could perform a symbolic ceremony, but I hadn't specified about legal at the time. We were originally going to the legal thing beforehand with my uncle, but since he's coming now anyways, I figured down there would be better. :)

I am an April 2014 IRHS bride and have sent out our save the dates.  Happy to share them with you if you want an idea:)
Hi Lauray, I actually sent out informal invites as my save the date via email. I had a graphic designer create a really nice one (looked as formal as paper would have). I have her creating the passport invites now as my formal invite. What did you choose?

Hi Ladies, I think I read this somewhere before but I can't for the life of me find it again. We have an extra day of shooting with our photographer and are trying to decide what the best way to use it will be... if we can afford an excursion for our guests it will be that and our welcome dinner.

But, otherwise we are thinking about nearby venues where we could go and take some pictures like the Great Rose Hall House or the Aqueducts. Did anyone else contact them about just taking photos there... I think I read that they charge a pretty large fee. Anyone have any other suggestions of places that might make for some awesome photos? I might be open to TTD, not sure yet because our extra day of shooting might end up being the day beforeee the wedding which wouldn't work out so well! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
