I'm sure the photographer will be great!  We were there last year and had the photographer from the resort take some pics of us and they turned out amazing!  So, don't worry about your choice :)  We just sent our final details in too.  Oh, that's so nice!  We ate at the Cajun restaurant last year and it was soooo good....but all of the food at the resort is great!  Are you staying at the Suites too?  We were planning on having a private dinner and reception but we don't have enough people :(  So, we're just going to have a private dinner for 1 1/2 hours and then move to the terrace and have a DJ up there.  I know!!!  I can't believe it's a month away.  I remember when it was 300 days away....I have a countdown on my phone :D

Did you have to pay to rent the space on the terrace ? I ran into the same problem with not having enough people to do a private dinner and reception... booo :( and they gave me the option to use the Blue Moon Bar for a fee plus a DJ fee. So you are having a private dinner but not reception ?Or do you mean semi-private dinner ?

Whew... I finally made it though all 538 pages of this forum!! It answered many questions but also generated more anxiety and fret over little details, which I'm trying to avoid doing!! Ahhhh... Ok. So, I've decided against battle Tia Flora and decided to bring real touch flowers for bouquets/bouts. Does anyone have any experience with AFloral.com or Lily Of Angels (packages available on Ebay). Also, we plan to do the Steel Pans Band for ceremony/champagne. Did past brides provide them with specific songs or just let them wing it??? I see a lot of brides are doing the Beach party after dinner...has anyone had a cocktail hour (or two hours) following dinner? I trying to figure out what options would be for this...wanting to do open bar and DJ for an hour or two with speeches, 1st dance, etc before the Disco opens. I feel like the less I plan, the less expectations I will have, therefore, the less options for disappointment?!?!?! Thanks!

I went with Sharonnagassardesigns.com for my real touch flowers ... check them out !! They get back within a couple days, and are really easy to order from :) pm if you need any extra info !!

When I was there in May you could get pretty much anything you wanted.  As for the reception, you pay for it (as with everything else) and it's not as much variety as they have at the regular bar.  The international bar menu for the reception had absolut, smirnoff and stoli on it, but I'm pretty sure they had grey goose at the regular bars.  No patron though that I saw.
ok thanks! I did see someone else post the liquors which is a big help! Can't complain too much when it's all inclusive :)

Does anyone recommend any excursions and/or tour companies?

Also, did anyone do rum favors and if so, how did you order them?

I am getting there slowly and surely for my April wedding.  I have had luck getting in touch with the coordinator; they usually respond within a week or two however i am still waiting to hear back from tai flora with a quote.  Let me know if you guys have any questions and maybe they are ones i have already asked the coordinator.

Hi Jaclyn, did Tai Flora give you any pricing for items to rent for a reception on the beach? Tent, dance floor, drapery, lighting.... Thanks!

Well, we do have to pay $400 for the dinner, but she didn't say anything about paying for the terrace.  The way the WC explained it to me was we will have the restaurant for 1 1/2 hours and then they open it to the public.  So, I guess that's where the $400 comes into play.  I'm not sure how long we're able to use the terrace for or how long we'll be able to have the DJ there.  I'm guessing it's only until 10:30 or 11 though.

Hey Colleen,

Do you think you could email me at sfox4214@yahoo.com ? I tried sending a PM but it would let me about the reception. I believe it might be because I'm a new user to the forum. Thanks :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
