Hi Britt,

I think the actual ceremony is only 30 minutes, I had emailed the WC and asked about what time we could do a cocktail party and she said that we could start it as early as 5pm (our wedding  is at 4). I would just give it some extra time for the champagne toast and what not, So maybe give it an hour on your timeline :) By the way say hi to Victoria :P see you guys there!!

haha, thanks Marcy!!!!! ( small world that our wedding is on the same day eh? haha)  Thanks for the tips!!!

Hey ladies! Good to know the timing of the ceremony etc, I was wondering that too! You guys have me into panic mode though, Marcy, are you on January 28 at Rose Hall Beach?? I hope not because I received confirmation for that date but Britt mention you guys are on the same day!? I have been having fears of that happening lol

So I just got a small bit of bad news from Nicole at the Suites.  We can't put up the paper lanterns we bought in Calabash.  The lanterns are the most noticeble decorations we have and are really, really important to me.  So now we are back to square one....where to have the reception?  We originally wanted to do Aunt Ruby's but were really concerned about the heat in July.  Can any past brides comment on the reality of the heat in Aunt Ruby's at night?  Is it unbearable?  Can anyone recommend another restaurant on the property?  Please help.  Thanks!

That is definitely disappointing!!!!  I have heard Aunt Ruby's is not unbearable at night with the ocean breeze.  I contemplated having our reception at the steakhouse, but decided I didn't want to take decorations with me.  My FI is already not happy about the piles of stuff that need to go... cheesy.gif

Nicole and Tiffany must be catching up on emails today because I finally heard back from them as well.  Still no response to all the questions in my details form, but at least a response saying they are working on it.  We'll see how long until they respond with any bad news about what I want to do... rolleyes.gif

Yeah I'm pretty bummed.  And FI is insisting on having the reception indoors. :(  Looks like I'm losing $143.  Where are you having your reception?

I bought them from Just Artifacts.  I bought them in 3 different sizes (12', 16' and 24') in turquoise, lime green and brown.  The brown ones are the smallest and the green (I believe) are the biggest.  I also bought 50 of battery operated LED lights for them.  I would be more than happy to sell them to you if you are interested. sukie1220@yahoo.com

Just wanted to add that they are typical round paper lanterns.  Very pretty.

haha... yeah, my FI insisted on A/C.  We are having a private dinner in Calabash.  At least that is what I filled out on my details form.  Hopefully there are no hiccups with that plan.

Are you doing a rehearsal / welcome dinner another night?  We are going to use the Mexican restaurant for a welcome dinner the night before the wedding.  Hopefully the bride that night has chosen another restaurant or we'll be finding somewhere else to eat.. LOL

I'm anxious to hear back from Nicole or Tiffany to get the big details confirmed... restaurants, bonfire, beach party, etc.  How long did it take to get answers and your proposed bill once you submitted the details form to them?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
