Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

I'm a Dec 2012 bride and this is the first I'm hearing of this...<sigh>

If the Suites have changed the terms of their agreement then they should be notifying every couple who has already signed the agreement. Soooo frustrating!

I requested the updated wedding details from the WC.  She gave me the updated document that is still titled "2012 Wedding Details" but has changed the minimum number of people needed for certain restaurants.  See below:

Private Events:

Aunt Ruby 7-10:30 pm.  Groups of 100 or more only according to the new info.

Calabash:  6:30-10pm.  Seats between 70-100 people depending on the seating arrangment.

Mediterranean:  "If you would like to have a private dinner, but have less than 70 guests, we offer the Mediterranean Restaurant for rental from 6:30pm until 10pm.  (The minimum number of people to have this restaurant in private is 40 adults and depending on the seating arrangement it fits up to 50 persons)."

I don't really understand what you are supposed to do if you want a private reception with dancing and you only have 60 adults since the Med. restaurant says that it fits up to 50.

Is this new document true?  In other words, is this document affecting any of the upcoming weddings?   I really hope there is some way around this... I don't want to have a reception at the Mediterranean restaurant.

I'm getting married at the Suites in 2 months and this is the first I'm hearing of this as well.  We are "confirmed" for Calabash and have 52 guests as of now.  It seems like they just don't like having to shut down any of their restaurants for private affairs. :/

Hi girls,

It probably is true...and you're right, you should be notified, but perhaps if a contract has been signed and if you already have agreement (in writing) from the resort, then they might accommodate original pricing... although even the contract states pricing is subject to change.
I think that because these resorts are so popular for weddings, they are running into issues with guests who can't book any a la cartes during the week as a result of all of the private affairs. Frustrating I know, I experienced it but at the end of the day I get it. We didn't have enough people to fill the entire restaurant so we didn't have a private reception.  The resort did an excellent job of creating a beautiful wedding reception dinner for us, and while there were other guests in the restaurant, I didn't even notice them! Seriously.. I don't remember even seeing other people there.  We had a beach bonfire for dancing and it was absolutely amazing.  There was a reason we opted to have a destination wedding, we wanted something more relaxed, more fun and definitely on the beach, we didn't want a typical wedding, our day couldn't have been more perfect and our guests have agreed it was the best wedding ever!! :)

Does any have the current Aunt Ruby's menu to share please? I saw one on here ages ago but I'm betting like many other things, it's changed.

I believe I read that in addition to the choice of three entrees, that they'll also do up a vegetarian plate - can someone confirm pls?

Lastly, do they offer a kids meal?

Thanks!

Hi Beach Bum - congrats on your wedding! How was the Beach, ie the rooms etc? I see most people seem to choose the suites, but we are considering the Beach also... Just curious as to how it stacks up! Thanks, Sarah

Hi Ladies,

My travel agent handled my date confrimation, i knew it took linger than anticipated but i have not dealt with the WC yet at IBRH.

We are getting married February 24, 2013 <3cheers.gif

A few questions - when is the right time to get everything squared away like restaurant, ceremony, flowers etc?

I am the most impatient person, we got engaged and i had the date set within a week! I am waiting on my save the dates now, but we need an intail deposit for our guests by June 30th. I would l like to have everything done sooner than later but dont think i can get the inviations when i have no details?

When do you send out the invitations? Also is the a percentage that you assume will not go....I mean between all of our lists we are at 220, but his mom's list are mostly going to be "no" she said.

I am expecting between 75-100, hopefully the response on the save the dates with the travel agent will indicate the number.

Any advise, cause i am clueless?

Yea I was pretty upset at first but she has the right forms now, so hopefully it is ok! I am pretty much ready, just have to pack and finialize a few things, but the To-Do list is pretty short, since I have been at it for over a year now. How about you? Your date is right around the corner, as well!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
