Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

I just wanted to let off a little bit of steam. My wedding is 3 weeks away at IRHB and the WC emailed me today and told me 'because of the number of people (I have 40 guests) they have changed my non-private reception to a semi private reception because they need to close off two seating times until 8:30'. This was NEVER discussed with me before and I have several emails stating that I was having a non private reception and it was of no cost. How the f*** can they just change things last minute and expect us to be ok with it? I refuse to pay this.

Has anyone else run into this problem? If you have, how did you deal with it?

I reserved my date for Aug 24,2013. I am thinking of canceling EVERYTHING with IRHS!! I agree their lack of communication is EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!! I faxed my Credit Card information as well as OUR Identification along with ALL OF OUR contact information, they CLAIM they never received it!! So OUR info is just floating around!!! I am going to look into IRHG and see if they are better!!

Yes, I could understand for what you going through, Me and Fiancee have the same day but for this year August . Before we had receive our confirmation for our wedding day we had some issues getting in contact with them also. We been e mailing Tiffany or Nicole ( wedding coordinator at the suites) but when we send our info there no problem maybe because we wrote Nicole name on the paper we had faxed to them.

Sorry to hear that - we experienced the same thing.  I worked through my travel agent and it took almost a week for them to confirm that they received our paperwork, card info, and had booked the date for us.  It makes you nervous since the hotel chain only does one wedding a day.  The excuse we got is that the wedding coordinator was on vacation or out of the office or something.  After we had our travel agent bug them we got a verbal confirmation then the written two days later.  I am thinking about changing to the grand as well they are just much more for a private reception.

Let me know if you have questions I have tons of info sent to me by my travel agent...pricing sheets, etc.

I know everyone is complaining about hearing back from the WC at the Suites...  when I emailed my date request, I followed it up with a phone call and then got a confirmation email the next day.  I have heard back one or two times since... but I did email the WC last Friday with a bunch of questions and have not heard back yet...  I am SUCH a planner when it comes to things - own my own business and expect emails back the same day.  But in this case, you have to think that my wedding is about 13 months away.  Whether they respond to my email today or next week it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.

Just think how many emails they get daily - from brides with date confirmations, brides with upcoming weddings, brides looking to book, brides looking for information PLUS they have to plan and deal with the weddings that are happening daily.  That is a ton of work for the few WC they have on property.

I have heard that as your wedding gets closer, the resort is much quicker with responses.  The WC has also told me that I don't have to pick flowers, tablecloths, cakes, etc. until next January or February.  I'm not sure if other people have been told otherwise but that is FINE with me.

One of the best parts of having a destination wedding is having less to worry about!  We don't have to go find flower vendors and this and that - it's more about choosing what we want and the hotel will get it done.  Trust me, this time next year if I'm not hearing back, I'll have a huge problem but right now, it's not the end of the world.

And, that's why this forum is so awesome.  So instead of the WC answering a million zillion questions a day, probably about the same thing, people can just ask here and then not have to bother her about it.

I couldn't agree more Allie!  They host a wedding daily and then have to field questions from all of us brides that don't have their wedding until a month or even a year out.  At first I was so frustrated too but then think about your own job and put yourself in Nicole's shoes.  She has A LOT on her plate.

I am getting married there April 29, 2012 and has of recently Nicole picks up the phone and calls me and responds to my emails quickly.  They aren't worried about May or even 2013, they are worried about their brides right now that are about to walk in the door. I would much prefer answers NOW then getting them 8 months ago.

Use this blog to get answers to your questions that you have - you will get a much quicker response!!

Best of luck!  If you read Trip Advisor or any other rating source they give great reviews for this hotel and I am so looking forward to leaving in 5 days to marry my best friend there!

Hi all! I am getting married Jan 18 2013 at the Beach location. I am interested in a private reception and the options available are the cajun restaurant or the steakhouse. I have found plenty of reviews or posts of brides who have had their private reception at Uncle Tonys steakhouse, but i have not seen anything about the cajun restaurant Jambalaya. Have any past brides have any photos or information on a private reception at Jambalya?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
