Have you tried calling them?

So frustrating....I really hope this is worth it.

Yikes! Not cheap... they should really have a toll free number.

Q for all past brides out there: Has anyone had the cake with the champagne toast after the ceremony?? Just curious if it's too hot & if the cake held up.

I was thinking it would be nice to have our ceremony, champagne & cake (because they go so well together!!) and a steel drum band. Our dinner will be at 7 so also gives pple a bit of snack... plus i'm assuming there are plenty of other desserts at dinner!!

I see a lot of pictures of brides that got married at the Iberostar that aren't wearing a wristband. Does this resort not require them, or have the brides worked something out where they can remove theirs for the wedding day and get a new one afterwards? I just don't want a big colored band on my wrist in all the photos.

They allow you to remove the wrist band for the day and get a new one at the front desk

I purchased a calling card for $5.... it has been very helpful in the planning process. You can get them at gas stations

Hi Ceecie,

I wanted to comment on Godfrey Guy. We also had a few problems with him (nothing like you are going through though). I did notice that his responses definitely get snippy/attitude-y. I was told that the money was due the week before the wedding and that's when I paid. The problem we had was we put a down payment on specific flowers, only to be told his wholesalers did not have those flowers in bloom...a week before the wedding. After much irritation, tears, and freaking out...I decided I didn't care what the flowers looked like really. Anyways...he did an amazing job with my "backup" flowers and they were seriously more beautiful than I ever imagined. Point of the story I guess is that everything is going to be perfect no matter what happens. You might be freaking out right now, but it is so important to remember how amazing your wedding day will be regardless of everything! As long as you and your groom show up. wink.gif

I leave for my wedding on Monday the 26th.  I have done everything by the book and now everything is exploding...........

So first I loose communication with Nicole at the Suites.  It seems she was getting my emails but I was getting nothing back.  Finally I did get in touch through my travel agent who emails, and I get through on the phone.   All this to find out a second problem............  I FedEx my paper work to Jamaica 6 weeks ago and Nicole doesn't have them!!  FedEx delivered them to the Beach instead of the Suites and they signed for them and now they are LOST!  No one knows where they are............  We have been told just to bring a new set and we can still get married......BUT all we can think about is IDENTITY THEFT!!!!

In the middle of this on Friday Godfrey Guy the florist I hired, has sent an email asking for more money?!  Some story about the flower shop changing their policy and now they want the money early - strangely they want $250 US dollars only??!!  After some debate and a discussion with Nicole and FH I say no, we will pay as per the contract agreement.  this results in a text message that asks why I am being so difficult and that all the "Iberostar Brides are so hard to deal with when there is a slight change".  Now he refuses to meet with me to discuss the flowers and will just drop off what he thinks I want and pick up his money from Nicole later!!!  REALLY?!

To add fuel to this debacle is Air Canada's strike/work to rule (or call in sick) campaign..................

Who said destination wedding were easier and stress free?

Thanks for listening.

Thanks for the tip.  I will definitely do that going forward.  In the meantime, the day I posted on here I also emailed the WC a follow-up email to every single email that has gone unanswered for weeks (4 in total) and guess what...she finally responded!  Persistance is key.  :)

Hi ladies! Pretty sure I promised some pics of the food from the Suites, so I'm finally here to do it! Pics are from my iphone, so not the best quality! :) Here are pics from Calabash. They look a little scary, but I will promise, everything is AMAZING!!! Not one person had a complaint. This was by far my favorite dining experience!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
