I'd say the photographer is up to you, it's not expected for independant ones but if you felt they earned it then go for it. We tipped the WC's. Kimoya and Vanassa were phenomenal and I saw them working their butts off every day of the week. I tipped $60 to the 2 of them (I went to their office the day after the wedding, there is usually one of them there each morning until 1pm)

To privatize or not to privatize?? Hi ladies! I have been back and forth for months on whether or not I want to pay the extra dough to do a private reception.  I prefer not to but I am wondering if the flow of the reception gets thrown off when transferring to the disco.  Thoughts??

Hey brides! So i have this idea that i HAVE to accomplish lol.. I would love nothing more to have a Jamaican/reggae singer sing as I walk down the isle.. Its a beautiful song that will really bring the island feel to the ceremony. Does anyone know how I could go about finding a singer? I know there are bands and steel drummers that perform, but i havent heard anything about an actual SINGER. Please let me know ladies!

 

Also, we are getting married on a Saturday, and was really hoping to have a DJ at our reception to play music for our guests to dance & have fun to. But i am now learning that there is a beach party on Saturday nights, which would prevent me from having a DJ? Does this only apply if our reception is on the beach? What about a private reception at Aunt Rubys, could I have a DJ there?

 

Any info would be greatly appreciated... and just a note to all the brides that have uploaded pictures, I have yet to see ONE picture that hasnt made me want to cry/laugh/smile/cream from excitement, you all look so beautiful!!!

& also, I am looking for a good DJ that is familiar with island music and might be able to incorporate Haitian music into our reception (my fiance and his family are Haitian so we want to play music to acknowledge both of our cultures... any suggestions?

 

& any suggestions on a good videographer? So far I really enjoy Zuluspro, Misha Earle, Sungold, and Stacey Clarke for photographer, but we want this whole thing videotaped too!!!

Thank you both so much.  We are really happy with it. There may be a local videographer that does the same work, however, we really only knew of maybe two of videographers in Jamaica.  We found them in the vendor review section of BDW.

My wedding date is April 13, 2013 which is also a Saturday, at the Suites. I am having a cocktail hour/reception with a DJ. I confirmed already with Nicole. I am assuming they have more that one DJ available.

Was the bonfire close enough to one of the hotel bars or do you recommend spending the extra money and having the bar right there?
