You may want to check with the WC. I had DJ Kevan booked for my wedding in June, and the WC told me I had to cancel him and use the one on property. But maybe it is resort specific. DJ Kevan seems awesome though, I was really looking forward to having him!

Congratulations! I am looking forward to seeing your pictures. I am also getting married at the Suites April 26,2012. Could you please let me know if you had to pay a vendor fee for the DJ. What was your experience of DJ Kevan.

Thank-you.

Thanks for the info on the disco ladies!! I think I'm just going to keep my dress on all night, I absolutely love it and it's my one and only day, right!? :)

I was a bit concerned about drinks being spilt on my dress but they do not allow glass on the dance floor so it worked out great! My bustle wasn't working properly and the dress get a bit dirty but other than that no issues!

I changed into my TTD dress.

You left to go for a swim at 1 am?  Does that mean we're allowed to use the pools after they close?

To answer a few questions:

The dress is by Rivini, I never planned to go short but I saw this one in a fashion show on the morning news to advertise a trunk show and was obsessed with it instantly.

My flowers are actually fake. I really wanted Plumeria (Frangipani)  in my bouquet and since they mainly grow them in Hawaii it would cost a fortune to get them through Tai Flora. For my bouquet, 2 bridesmaids bouquets, 3 bouts and a handful of loose ones for the cake and my hair they quoted me around $620. I found a lady with a website in California who specializes in "Real Touch" frangipani and other tropical flowers. For all the flowers AND insured shipping it cost $270!   www.plumeriasweddingflowerboutique.com   I HIGHLY recommend her, she's fantastic, as long as you have a plan to get your flowers to Jamaica, that was a bit tricky lol.

Oh and for the bride who asked about the disco... we went twice and I was comfortable both times. I got pretty into the dancing on my wedding night and got a little sweaty but not dripping or anything. It only starting feeling a bit warm when it got crowded early (like 1am) in the morning at which point we left to go for a swim anyway.

Thank you so much!  I loved my wedding jewelry.  I got it from gilt.com It's a Miguel Ases piece.  gilt.com has jewelry for more than 1/2 price off.  They have some beautiful pieces but you have to join the website in order to buy the products.

Thank you!  I got the bridesmaid dresses at Davids Bridal.  All of my bridesmaids lived in different areas of the country so Davids Bridal was the way to go because they are so convienent.  They are wearing a chiffon dress which they were happy to do because they were comfortable all night.  The color of the dress is cornflower blue which I thought looked great with the ocean in the background.

Lol, they put up signs saying not to swim early in the evening as that is when they pour the chemicals in but later at night it just says "swim at your own risk" cause there's no lifeguards. We swam almost every night before bed. It was awesome cause only one night did anybody else go swimming so it was like we had a huge private pool the rest of the week.

Hi, All

I am super worried about my April 6, 2013 Suites wedding because of the price my TA gave me for hotel rooms.  We are now looking at dates in later April, but I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their hotel room group price estimates (on the forum or in PM)?  I want to make sure that we are getting over charged and to see what I should be expecting.  When I do a Kayak.com search I get much better prices (granted I am looking at April 2012 prices since 2013 prices aren't out).

Thank you all,

Courtney, a.k.a. worried bride...

Question for all brides, past & present:

Did anyone manage to have their wedding on live feed for those who couldn't attend? Either via skype or some other means and if so, how? I've had friends ask about it but I'm not sure it's possible given there has to be a pretty good internet connection. We can always record it and send it but it might be fun to have them "present" online :)

Let me know if anyone's figured it out with the resort!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
