Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

I have tried to book Marcia. Have had a few messages back and forth with her but none lately and none since I said I wanted to book and asked what the next steps were. I know she's probably been busy with everyone elses wedding pictures but when should I start looking elsewhere....or should I just keep waiting....?

Thanks for any advice ladies :-)

Hi Jamaica2012, I am going through the same thing you are with photographers. I'm getting concerned that while I wait for their reply to complete the final steps that another person will book with them. So, I'm just going to increase the possibility that I will have a good photographer by continuing to shop around. It makes no sense to sit around and wait. Can you tell I'm not impressed?

Marcia is in my budget and Misha was not...I emailed Marcia a while back and she never responded, so I tried again and emailed her through the form on her website, and she wrote back immediatley.  Since then, I've communicated with her assistants, but through her email address.  I sent back my contract and asked about how to pay the deposit, and got no response, so I sent another message asking how to do the Bank of America deposit and someone wrote back within the day.  So, my advice is, if you like her, just email again!!  It doesn't hurt to look around, but I thought her work was beautiful for the price.  Hope this helps!!! :-)

good evening, brides!!!

marcia is alot of fun to work with. although, i completely understand the frustration some brides are having..i encourage you all to keep trying.

she's super dependable on the day of your wedding..she arrived hours before expected and made my husband and i feel at ease fairly quickly.  we even booked her to return since we had to move our wedding indoors (due to weather)..she returned with an associate photographer and we had an amazing photo shoot a few days after our big day.

most of the shots we did, i wanted..i was very specific with how i wanted our shoot to go and she was happy to take my suggestions..etc..it was alot of fun!!!

pics of my actual wedding and details from our big day can be found on my planning thread's final post.

good luck with your plans, ladies!

until next time, take care!!

We would really like to be outside on the beach for the evening... I'm having a hard time making decisions without being able to see photos or anything. I have a time set up with the coordinator tomorrow to discuss over the phone and I'm hoping that will make the decision easier!

How is your planning coming along?? Less than 3 months! Can you believe it?!

Have you thought of doing the private rental of the disco for your cocktail?

Thanks ladies.

Just a little forewarning... I ended up getting a little discount by taking out the DVD that Misha makes out of her packages :)  Don't know if that puts you close to your budget for her or not.  PM me if you have ?s!

Regarding photographers - I've always gotten replies from Marcia or her assistant within a day or two.  They've been easy to communicate with.  Misha was also super nice, but will cost you a lot more.  I had quite a bit of contact with Brian Nejedly as well, and he was so nice.  I also exchanged some emails with the Digipix guy, and he was also very nice and seemed accomodating, I just didn't feel comfortable because I couldn't find many real bride's reviews.  In the end, I chose Marcia because she offered the lowest price, without compromising quality. Remember to also factor in whether they bring an assistant/ shadow shooter, and whether they pay the vendor's fees (I know Misha does).  As for the quality of their work, it can be subjective.  I know I personally didn't like the portfolios of Stacey Clarke or Saab very much, though I can't tell you exactly why...

I booked Stacey Clarke for my July 2012 wedding and to me her photos look so fun and vibrant! I was able to actually meet her in person back in May when I did a site visit and she was even sweeter in person! Her packages are very reasonable just shoot her an e-mail she responds very quickly!:) Photos and memories are all we will have once our days are over so choosing a photographer that really captures the style of photos you want is important to find! So Good Luck:)

I KNOW! I am beside myself I'm so excited. My dress FINALLY comes next week so of course I'm working out like a fiend. We just sent our legal stuff out and have our final details sheet ready for the coordinator at the Beach. Just my little arts and crafts projects to do and maybe a little online shopping for sundresses lol. I wonder if we'll be able to see eachother's bonfires down the beach! Still planning to hit the disco after your reception? Let's do a group shot if so k? Woohoo! Party!

Hi Ladies,

Our wedding is on Jan 21st... does anyone know how soon we have to send the documents down? I just sent an email to Nicole, but we all know how long she takes to respond!

Not sure if any past or future brides know the answer to this question as I'm sure it may have been brought up before but if we want to rent out Aunt Ruby's but dont have 50 will they let us pay for the remainder in order to have it? If not, what if we tell a little lie?

Thanks!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
