Here are my general details:

Rehearsal dinner - Saturday night - Calabash (approx 23 people) will pick off the menu

Wedding - beach ceremony at 4:30 PM (no aisle runner, only white fabric on huppa no aritifical flowers, Steel Pans band)

5:30 - 6:30 cocktail hour on the beach - Menu A & National bar - Steel Pans band

7:30 - 10:00 - private reception at Aunt Ruby - guests picked choices from the group menu & DJ

Happy planning to everyone!

Hi Erin,

Can you post some information about your wish laterns.

1) Price

2)How big they are

3)How you will be arranging for everyone to do them.

I'm having a bonfire party with a reggae band the 1st night everyone is at the resort and this might be cool to do. THanks for the idea!!

Just wondering, are we charged taxes on top of all the wedding fees?  I'm asking because my quote from Tai Flora has 17% tax added on top.  Plus another 4% to pay by credit card.  Then an extra 2.5% that my credit card will charge for the USD transaction.  It really adds up!  I don't want an unpleasant surprise when we check out and pay for the wedding.

Can't believe I have less than a month to go!

Hey Ladies,

I have just booked Sun Gold Photography! I have been looking at different photographers for about 6 months now and always overlooked Sun Gold because of the price list that I found posted on BDW. Since I kept coming across their awesome work on facebook, I decided to go ahead and inquire with Paula (one half of the husband wife team). Paula responded immediately and advised that they are happy to discuss customizing a package that will fit within my budget. So we did just that! She also advised me that there is a price list floating around BDW that has incorrect prices that are higher than what they charge. So if you are hesitant about contacting them because of their price, give them a call and see if they can work within your budget and customize a package for you.

Here is the link to their website:

Happy Planning!

Soooo I got my slideshow from my TTD sessions with Misha Earle....She was beyond awesome.  I hired her to come on my honeymoon and take me around Negril for 3 hrs.  I didn't want to be rushed the day after my wedding...and I wanted it to be like a photo shoot.  Enjoy

4% to pay by cc?! WTF! That's crazy, they don't even pay that much in fees to MC/Visa so it's another way of making $$.

Pay by cash! Go where you get the best rate possible for currency exchange and pay them cash so you can avoid extra costs.

DeAngelis2be - I got my wish lanterns from wishlantern.com. I got the Eco friendly ones...a 10 pack for $45 with shipping. They look pretty big but I am not sure exactly how big. My plan is to do them after the welcome party on the beach but I don't know the exact plan. Here are some pics of the package of 5. So I got two of these and they look pretty easy to pack .

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
