This was not in the wedding details that I received or I would have been planning differently all along! Seriously, it's crap! Ugh!!!! I am trying to roll with it- I emailed them to ask if there's any wavering on this since the sun sets at 5:30 in the winter and I need to do pictures afterwards. And if I have to move to the beach, it's not the worst thing ever.... but then I wouldn't have spent $200 on shoes!!!! thatswck.gif

Ok so there was a post a little while back that got me concerned about rooms still being available for our wedding. Does anyone know the phone number to their reservation line so I can inquire about my week?

I'm going to keep looking for it but sometimes you guys are just so on top of things that you have it before I am able to find it! :-)

Thanks Ladies

Hello Everyone!

Can anyone offer me advise on the Suites vs. Grand?  I have tentatively reserved a date for both the Suites and for the Grand for June 2012!  And I can't decide between the 2 resorts.  We are anticipating around 50 guests.  For the Grand we would opt for the free wedding package, and pay for our guests' day passes on the day of the wedding (since a few of our guests will have kids and need to stay at the Suites).  But we really have no idea how many people may come (and where they will choose to stay), so the price for the day passes may vary from $200 to $2000.

I would say one big item to remember is if you have guest traveling with children and your wedding is at the Grand the children will most likely not be able to attend as it is an Adult Only resort.  This will then require guest with children to figure out what to do with their kids for a day.

Another big item would be the price difference in the resorts, but if you are willing to pay for the day pass this might not be as big of a deal.

Good luck, I have heard all the properties are beautiful.

Would anyone be interested in spliting the purchase of white travel mugs with your logo on them?

Click on below link to see pictures of the product.

They will cost around $1.70 a cup. I'm looking to place this order in the next couple of weeks. I need someone who would be interested in 30-40 cups.

PM me if you're interested! :)

I actually spoke to the PR manager at the Grand and she said that kids ARE allowed to attend the ceremony and a private reception.  And if we are able to get the free wedding package, then the ceremony/reception at the Grand actually works out to be much cheaper than a wedding at the Suites.  So we figured we could use the "savings" to pay for our guests' day passes.

Is the private reception free at the Grand? It sounds like it would be a better deal - and then you and your hubby can enjoy the Grand :)

Oh wow!  That is great that kids are allowed, I imagined with all the rules there would be no way.  cheesy.gif  We chose the suites due to price and hotel ammenities etc. but they also did not have the free wedding promotion going on at the Grand when we were looking

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
