Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

I spent some time with the wonderful folsk at the front desk of the Suites and he told me they do upgrade people from time to time to the Grand.  I guess keep in mind that they will do this if its something that will benefit THEM and not necessarily.  Hotels overbook all the time and hope people cancel.  When they don't they dangle "upgrades" etc in our faces and we most of the time hop on them.  Consider your wedding day and the costs, but the idea of possibly heading to a BM's room or your parents room is a good fallback.

Awwww.... I'm sorry!!! I'm beginning to think this resort just has TOO many weddings and is losing focus on helping each person make their wedding special. I really hope you can find a solution that makes you just as happy. If you do dancing inside everyone can always walk together outside at the end to let your wish lanterns go.... kind of like a "wedding procession." :) Hope things work out!!!

I am getting married on a Thursday, and we wanted to have a Bonfire on the beach, with a DJ and open bar for two hours, for our after dinner reception and dance. I was told by the Beach WC, Silvia, that because my wedding is the night of the beach party for the resort, i am allowed to have a bonfire and open bar, but i am not allowed to have a DJ!!!! She said that the beach party has a DJ and open bar, on a different section of the beach, but that there can only be one DJ at a time.. sooo my wedding suffers.. :( .... We are releasing sky lanterns. so i am soo sad that we can't have a dj on the beach for our reception. so now i have NO IDEA what we are going to do. as i need a dj for the dances...

ugh.. i am just soo disappointed and sad. Any advise would be awesome.. cause i am just feeling lost right now.. i mean... a wedding with no dance portion for my friends and family is just not an option for me. i have a first dance.. father daughter dance.. and mother son dance.. how do you do all of this with no friggen DJ?

she did say we could have a cocktail party with a DJ and open bbar etc... but then we would be inside.. and i have the sky lanterns... so i don;t know if that would work.

*sigh*.

Agh!! Another mishap! :( My wedding is in December and I ended up with two people having to go home a day early, but I can handle that in comparison to how things are going for you! Hope you're getting things figured out and feeling better!!

Just letting you know so you don't have the worst day of you life like I am having....

Oohhh I love that under the table lighting!!!

Soooo sorry to hear about what happened luvmoo!  I am hopeful things will work out for you.

Off topic...

I asked Nicole if we could add a plated salad to our entree at Calabash because I know our families are big salad eaters.  She says that the Salmon stuffed with shrimp mousse was a salad, but that we could substitute it for garden or chicken cesar if we wanted to.  I am totally confused at this point but then ask was the salmon portion large enough that it could be removed if ppl don't eat salmon.  She says...I'll send you a picture.

With 10 days to go....all I can do is laugh.

I think save-on-crafts.com has them?
That would look gorgeous on the beach for a reception...

So on another note, after looking at the final details page today, I am very frustrated. I think it is ridiculous that the WCs just change things at will. I've been planning a 3:00 lobby terrace wedding all along and according to this final details page, they don't allow terrace ceremonies until after 5:00!! This was not in the wedding details that I received or I would have been planning differently all along! Seriously, it's crap! Ugh!!!! I am trying to roll with it- I emailed them to ask if there's any wavering on this since the sun sets at 5:30 in the winter and I need to do pictures afterwards. And if I have to move to the beach, it's not the worst thing ever.... but then I wouldn't have spent $200 on shoes!!!! thatswck.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
