Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

I was at a wedding in Mexico and the Bride and Groom brought a good quality IPOD Dock (BOSE was the brand I think). It had great volume and they just loaded their IPOD with all their Music. I know its not as convenient but it can be your solution to having what you wanted in the first place.

I am getting married on a Thursday, and we wanted to have a Bonfire on the beach, with a DJ and open bar for two hours, for our after dinner reception and dance. I was told by the Beach WC, Silvia, that because my wedding is the night of the beach party for the resort, i am allowed to have a bonfire and open bar, but i am not allowed to have a DJ!!!! She said that the beach party has a DJ and open bar, on a different section of the beach, but that there can only be one DJ at a time.. sooo my wedding suffers.. :( .... We are releasing sky lanterns. so i am soo sad that we can't have a dj on the beach for our reception. so now i have NO IDEA what we are going to do. as i need a dj for the dances...

ugh.. i am just soo disappointed and sad. Any advise would be awesome.. cause i am just feeling lost right now.. i mean... a wedding with no dance portion for my friends and family is just not an option for me. i have a first dance.. father daughter dance.. and mother son dance.. how do you do all of this with no friggen DJ?

she did say we could have a cocktail party with a DJ and open bbar etc... but then we would be inside.. and i have the sky lanterns... so i don;t know if that would work.

*sigh*.

Just a public service announcement to all the brides, make sure you have your guests book way far in advance.  My wedding is 2.11.12 and I just found out the WHOLE Suites is booked out for that weekend/week, and more than half my guests haven't booked.  In-between crying and emailing everyone we are trying to figure out where everyone is staying, I guess maybe the Beach and paying for day passes.

Just letting you know so you don't have the worst day of you life like I am having....

Awww I am soo sorry to hear you are dealing with that... :(  I am fortunate enough that 99% of my guests have booked, and we are at the Beach and no one has had any issued yet * knock on wood* for our week... but maybe your guests could book at the Grand and the Beach... they may have to pay for the day pass but really that would not be too bad.. and noone will blame you! if anything they will blame themselves for not booking sooner.. , The other option would be that maybe you could think about moving your actual wedding day to the Beach, that way no one will have to pay for the day pass.. and they do beautiful weddings also from what i hear ( at least i hope so, as that is where we are getting married ) heheh

Hope you day gets better darlin!!! *hugs*

Wow, that is crazy and I am so sorry you are having to deal with this.  Hopefully people will book between the grand and the beach like another bride said and everything will work out!

I have a question for past brides (or anyone who knows).  I've read a lot on here that most times the bride and groom get upgraded to either a better room in the hotel they booked or sometimes they get bumped to the Gran (especially if they plan on moving there for the honeymoom anyway).  That being said, if we were to get upgraded to the Grand before the wedding, will they let my bridal party (who are staying at the Suites) come to the Grand to help me get dressed?  Do I have to pay for a day pass for them to come help me get ready?

Hi there,

I asked (a few times) and the answer has always been the same, the hotel will upgrade you to the next room class, if available. This doesn't mean you get upgraded to another hotel (from Suites to Grand, from Beach to Suites, etc...) it means they will upgrade you to the next room class within your resort.

We were going to upgrade ourselves to the Grand and I asked about having the photographer take pics of us (who will be with us the whole week as a paid guest) and the bridal party (BM's) come get ready and I was advised we would need to pay for day passes.  Ridiculous.

I'm sure we'll have an amazing time, I'm just really frustrated with the resort right now, and all the "added expenses".

We might just have them come over anyways if we upgrade and deal with it then. If they're in our room, will they really get caught??!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
