Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

Hey girls,

I'm not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure I am getting a free room for every 25 rooms booked or for every 22nd passenger, free cocktail hour for 25 + rooms, and free welcome party for 25 + rooms at the Grand. I told my TA about the other girl who posted on here about getting those freebies and she worked with the resort and apparently got these incentives for my group also. I'll have to double check with her but I'm almost certain that it's possible.

Susan,

What rate did your guest get? Just curious, when my TA tried to get something for free they wouldn't budge! She's actually pretty pissed and is thinking about not recommending Iberostar to anyone.  I have 48 people coming with all the rooms except two staying at the Grand.  You lucked out!

This is absolutely a possibility I had not considered.  I got a deal through a travel agent with some free incentives/upgrades if we book a certain number of rooms.  My contract states that if I book a certain number of rooms and/or guests (i.e. - 10 rooms, 21 guests) I will get certain free upgrades, cocktail hour on the day of the wedding and free room nights.  My travel agent had already given me a rate before I asked him to inquire about these incentives and the rate remained the same after he negotiated them into my room block agreement.  I like to think this is indicatitive of a good deal on my behalf, however, perhaps the travel agent already gets certain perks from the hotels to give to their couples for booking a certain number of rooms.

So, now we're in the same room catergory as our guests and if we want to upgrade it's going to cost us an additional $859goodnight.gif!!! We're on the fence, on whether or not to pay that additional expense. The free upgrade to an ocean front room is only available upon request....which blows!

I too inquired how other brides are getting free cocktails and such. My WC at the Grand had no clue what I was talking about. When I mentioned it to my travel agent, she said that certain travel agents will figure out how much it would cost for a cocktail hour and add that to the rate. So, people don't even realize they're paying it. I mean if I knew I could have done that, I would have added another $30 per person to the room rate. *smiles* Who would have known besides, me and the travel agent.  A lesson learned! Good luck

Hey Tropical Love,

I'm one of th brides that posted about the incentives/upgrades/comp nights that my TA was able to negotiate for me.  My TA had actually quoted me a rate before I asked him about getting anything from the hotel.  The quote for Suites he gave me, double $718 per person for 4 nights (lowest grade room).  The dates are 7/4/12 - 7/8/12.  Perhaps my TA was able to negotiate something for me because I committed to booking a certain number of rooms (i.e. - I had to put down a deposit for a block of 20 rooms) so I'm basically promising the hotel a certain amount of money/number of guests.  I believe you mentioned having 48 guests at the Grand.  Surely that should qualify you for a free cocktail hour or a few comped nights at the very least.  I would have your TA contact the hotel once more expressing your displeasure at their lack of appreciation.  You brought them a lot of business!  Surely they can spare giving your guests some cocktails and apps by the pool (that they could get anyway on their own if they go to any separate food/beverage outlet) in appreciation for hosting such a special event at their property.  They CAN do something for you.

PM me if you want my TA's info.

That was my thought too, so I'm just going to pray for no rain.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
