HAIR APPOINTMENTS

I was wondering how far in advance you girls made or are making appointments to get your hair done at the salon. Do we do this with the WC? Or does the spa have a specific email?

Thanks :)

Hi Sonia,

Congrats on your wedding..you were beautiful.

I know you are not doing a full review..so a few questions.

How many guests?

Did you do just 2 long tables and you and hubby sat in the middle of one?

What i am especially looking forward to is getting pictures back from our photographer. After looking at the portfolios and price lists of many different photographers we went with Misha Earle, and could not be happier with her work. Many people in our wedding party and interested in varying degrees of photography and were impressed with her fun professionalism and picture setups. If you are still looking for a photographer, please please PLEASE  go take a look. She is worth the bit extra money.

As for dindin...Calabash was fab, great food that even the foodies were happy with. We paid extra for wine, so it would not be the house stuff which i think complemented the meals perfectly. We didnt privatize the Calabash so we had the 800 to play around with. Because of the way we laid out the tables, in two rows, and where they positioned us, we didnt see any of the other guests. Perfect.

I could give a formal review, but i do feel that they get a bit repetitive.. we all know its a great place, that is why we chose it!

ohhh, one thing i did that seems different than other brides: i went with the bridal package from the spa- $300. first off, i think it was one of the better facials i have ever had, and the pricing for that is over $100 in itself, so once you add a manipedi, hair and makeup on it...it all is quite reasonable.. my hair (without a test) turned out better than i could have imagined, and did not move in the high winds...i went with all up, and am very happy that i did. makeup, i thought was a bit on the heavy side..but then it started to settle in to the skin and was perfect. sadly i had a little bit of a tear fest in the room when my sister was adjusting one of my earrings (all of those happy bridal moments), and i kinda smeared my make up...makeup team met me at the beach to repair...Love them.

me thinks..thats it..

Just an FYI....I just received my real touch flowers from the website  www.afloral.com I received them in three days after ordering! I am extremely happy with them! I have 6 bridesmaids and decided it would cut costs doing real touch bouquets. I ordered 6 pre-made bouquets of pink/white orchids, I ordered 6 bright pink lotus flowers to add into the bouquet. I also ordered two stems of orchids to make boutonnieres for the groomsmen. I ordered a few extra lotus flowers maybe to add to my bouquet. I believe I paid just under $120 (including shipping).  photo-1.JPG

Hi there, thanks for posting these :) I was looking at the same pre-made bouquets, are they a pretty good size? Do they look real? And were they more ivory than the pics online? And last q, were they shipped from the US to Canada? Thanks very much!!

Hey....I think the size is perfect for a bridesmaid bouquet, I was happy with how real they look, they are the real touch material, not a fabric/silk material. They are a bit more ivory in colour than what they advertise on there website, I am going to re-do them a bit by adding in the pink lotus flowers. My girls dresses are a bright fuchsia /coral colour so I don't mind a bit of the ivory. They shipped from US to Canada with FedEx, delivered right to the door, no duty tax and within three days.

Would definitely recommend!! Hope this helps!!!

I'm getting really frustrated with this florist thing.  I think I am going to pursue the idea of trying to get a new florist and getting Silvia to let me do it.  It's unacceptable that I've sent 2 emails asking a simple question and can't get a simple answer.  Either way, it seems like my money is not going there, I'll get artificial flowers if I need to.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
