Hey TropicalLove ,

Are you sure you have the right email for Godfrey guy because he responded to me within minutes and emails about once per week to keep up to date. The email I have for him is godfreyguy1@yahoo.com

I never have a problem with him responding. Hope this helps!

You do not have to rent out a restaurant to have your dance on the beach.... you'd just need the DJ, if you want some music for that dancing. ;) I'm doing the dance on the beach with a bonfire, and along with the bonfire you get a bar on the beach (you pay per person for each person over 15) for an hour. Past brides have said that this bonfire usually lasts a couple of hours though, and that if you tip the bartender he will usually stay. I can't remember the costs for this off the top of my head, but if you wanted to know I'm sure either I or someone else could find it for you! :)

Thanks!

Hey bToiinlove:

Im getting married at the Grand and since they have a cigar bar, I just assumed that they would have a person that I could hire to roll cigars! Well, the WC informed me a couple of weeks ago that they don't and don't know where to find one! Which is insane...ITS JAMAICA...there's nobody that can roll? REALLY

Anyway, that's the one thing that my fiance asked for...so one of my really good friends has a relative that works for the Jamaican tourist board who is looking into finding someone for me.  If Not, I'll guess we'll have to purchase cigars from the bar too. I'll share whatever I find out on the roller.  Let me know what you find out about the cigars at the resort!

Thanks,

Yolanda

Has anyone purchased cigar from the Cigar Bar before? If so, are the prices about the same as here in the US?

Has anyone brought cigars to the resort or plan on doing so?

Thanks in advance

No you don't have to rent out the restaurant.. you just have to have the bonfire package with the DJ, or i am sure you could also just get the DJ to set up on the beach and go from there...

In our case, we are having a semi private dinner, and then we are going out to have a bonfire on the beach, with a DJ for the remainder of the reception and dance. So we are paying the 250.00 USD for the bonfire, and then 150.00 USD for the DJ ( all based on one hour, although i am thinking of renting it for two to be safe) and then for the bonfire, you pay for anyone in addition to the 15 people included... They charge you over 15 people, what they would charge for the open bar..  so either 7$ per hour per person, for a open bar national, or 10$ per person per head for intenrational open bar, it still works out cheaper to do this, then it does to rent the private dinner in the restraunt,, if you add a DJ and bar... so i am happy! :)

The Grand WC told me they didnt have a roller. So i'm reaching out to a friend who has a relative who works for the Jamaican Tourist board.  If it a no go, I'll just buy cigars or ask the hotel staff where to get affordable one! I'll keep you posted on what I find out.

i've purchased cigars on property and no they're not the same price..they're marked up...like anything else at a resort, unfortunately.

i'm thinking of bringing cigars or maybe purchasing some locally before we get to the resort..i'd love to have a cigar roller but well, that might be a bit much...

Love!  Cannot say any more than that!  I loved the bridesmaid dresses and your dress and your photographer did an insanely fantastic job!  What designer is your dress?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
