Just wondering if anyone could tell me the capacities of the various places to get married at the Beach resort.  I am considering not having it on the beach and making it on the terrace.  For the life of me, I cannot find that information in my e-mails.  Any help would be fantastic!

I did not see a barber anywhere.  My husband is very particular about this.  He started practiving his shape up months before the wedding.  He got a cup the evening before we left and he was fine the day of the ceremony 4 days later with his own shape-up.

Thanks so much for your feedback!  I am so glad to hear Nicole doesn't rush you when it comes to pictures.

Did anyone else have their hair done with you?  I guess I am just wondering if there are 5 updos that need to happen plus makeup for all, are there 2 or 3 stylists doing back-to-back appointments or will all 5 to be done all at the same time.  I'd like everyone's hair and make-up done by 3:00pm, so there is time for lots and lots of pictures and wiggle room for running late... wink.gif

Any other past experiences with getting ready and how you timed it would be greatly appreciated?

Marcia Roberts got to my room around 3:30 and by the time she got all her pics done I was 5 minutes late... LOL .. Marcia was scheduled to get to my room at 3:00 but I hadnt anticipated my MOH being as slow as she was getting ready.. She was a real prima dona and slooow and did not want Marcia to take pics of her doing my make-up until she was absolutely ready..  Marcia takes aloooot of pictures but Nicole also told her to take her time because the wedding day is about capturing the moments not about sticking to a vigorous schedule...

Thanks for your response.  I did contact the WC at the Suites and she placed me on the wait list for the date we want.  Our wedding is already booked at the Beach so at least we got something.  I was very surprised to find every weekend in July AND August already booked at the Suites, however, it's still a long way away and I'm still holding out hope that our date will open up.  the one thing FI and I really want is a Saturday wedding since most of our guests have to leave Sunday and can't guarantee coming in earlier than Friday.

NOTE - Sorry for the double post but I wasn't sure how to include quotes until now.

I am a July 2012 suites bride.  That is crazy that every weekend is booked already.  I would suggest following up with Nicole to see if she keeps a wait list.  With it being a year out, you never know what might happen and dates might open up.  Are you flexible with switching to a weekday?  A Friday or Monday might be open and still give your guests an opportunity to just make a long weekend of it if time and cost are an issue.

Hi ladies!  I have a question about incentives.  What incentives does the Iberostar offer to the bride and groom and how many rooms do you have to book in order to get those incentives?  I've read some couples have gotten free cocktail hours, extended reception time, upgraded/free rooms.

jamaicasukie, i'm an iberostar beach bride and i can't tell you enough how i didn't see any real difference between each property...i had a scouting visit last fall.

its best to keep an open mind..if you end up at the beach your day will be just as beautiful...also, the beach property tends to be more cost efficient for traveling guests.  there were a few brides who booked the suites then hopped over to the beach because of price AND the beach property has a very nice beach site for your wedding..if you choose to have the ceremony beachside.  its also closest to the beach gazebo..if you're having a small ceremony, it'll fit between 12-15 guests.

i'm sure it'll all work out for the best!

until next time, happy planning!!!

Has anyone heard of couples serving their own booze? For example I'd like to have the bonfire on the beach for our reception however we can only fit the open bar for 1 hour into the budget. If we set up a table with a couple bottles of rum and coke and some wine does anyone know if the resort will permit this? Or would it just be easier to tip the bartender really well in hopes that he'll stick around for another hour, lol?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
