Hi everyone!!!  I do not post very often, but I read this board everyday!  I have introduced myself before but I will do it again!  My name is Samantha and FI and I are getting married at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites on June 15, 2012!  I am so excited!

I have booked Marcia Roberts for my photography after reading such wonderful things from you ladies!  She is asking for me to pay the deposit by depositing it directly into a Bank of America account she has.  Has anyone else done this?  They said I could do it online because the closest branch is a good 30 minutes from me, but I can not figure it out.  Is this weird or do you guys think it is normal?  Thanks!

burnison09...i'm not using marcia roberts but i had to western union my photog's deposit..so i trust that that's normal...its expensive to wire or receive funds in jamaica..if she has a bank of america account, i'd highly recommend going that route.

good luck and happy planning!!!

Thank you so much!  I realized that after I posted it there are no branches of Bank of America banks for me to make a deposit at so I am going to western union the funds to Marcia instead.  Did you direct deposit them into a bank account or send them to an address?  Sorry I am just confused by this whole process.

Your not the only one..  they too told me they could not lock in the 2011 rates, but I thought I had read somewhere in the post that someone was successful in doing this but I have no idea which post or where so I thought I would ask everyone here

i would have rathered putting down a deposit, however I was one of the ladies that had to carry all that cash on me to pay her in full when I got there....  However either I would say that my experience with Marcia and her team was nothing but wonderful... Good Luck!  You will enjoy her...

She told me to mail a money order to her daughter here in the states...I think she is in New York. That was about a month ago and I have not done it yet. She may have changed the way she collects the deposit. I have only heard great things about Marcia and her service so I would not be worried. I also had to western union my deposit to my makeup artist. In my planning I have found that Jamaicans are laid back and slow motion and arent always as high tech as us. I am not saying trust them all but I do trust these two :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
