Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

So will your dinner be private? Or will there be other hotel guests at your dinner (potentially). That's what I'm struggling with, we're going to have (hopefully) about 50 ppl at our wedding, so I would like it to be a private dinner. I really like the bonfire though, so I was thinking about doing that for the rehearsal, maybe having everyone meet at the lobby bar and then all head over to the bonfire or something.

I have heard from a few brides that they paid for the bonfire for an hour but they ended up getting 2 out of it. At the bonfire is where we will do the first dance, gater toss etc. And we will also have a DJ at the bonfire. So this will save us the almost $800 we were going to spend considering we were going to do the bonfire anyway.

If you are still considering doing the BBQ on the beach you may want to email them to see what the alternatives are when it comes to the weather.

Happy Planning.

Hi there,
Congrats!! I'm not sure about switching due to cancellations, I would keep trying with them, just in case someone cancels.  I was told you can have your wedding at the Beach if you're staying at the Suites if the Suites is booked. So I would definitely ask them about it if you really wanted another date. I'm not sure how that works though given they say they don't have more than one wedding/day.  I ended up going with the Beach myself, and now that I think about it, one of the reasons I chose Iberostar was due to the one wedding/day policy :) Good luck!

One question, what are the chances I will be able to switch over to the Suites for my wedding?  In other words, do couples often cancel/switch resorts?  Suites was our first choice, but sadly booked for the date we wanted and EVERY weekend next summer.

Also, is it possible to stay at the Suites but have the wedding at the Beach?

You can switch over if you want, I switched from Suites to the Beach.  It's not so much as "switch," you just book the other one and then cancel the first.  They are different wedding coordinators, the wedding planning isn't shared by the resorts.  They don't charge a cancellation fee unless you've already sent in the paperwork and they applied for the marriage license already.

Yes, you can have your wedding at the Beach if you're staying at the Suites.  But there are some rules on a certain percentage of your guests having to stay at the resort where you're getting married.  Remember, people staying at the Suites can go over to the Beach for free.  I would actually recommend having the wedding at the Beach.  It's more affordable for guests that way, and you don't have to worry about paying the day pass fee (or asking guests to pay it), and you don't have to worry so much about who's staying where.  I know for our guests price is a major issue, so we just didn't find it feasible to stick with the Suites.

Good luck, and happy planning!  Let me tell you, time sure creeps up on you.

Hi Nikadawn!

I actually just finished emailing the wedding coordinator at IRHB that very question! she said it is completely up to us how we want to deal with it.. we can let the resort and wedding coordinator deal with tai flora, or we can contact them directly on our own, via their website.. so it is all in what you want to do. :)

Does that mean that I should contact Tai Flora now with my pictures for my bouquets or do I send my pictures to the resort wedding coordinator and ask her for the cost? I just don't want to leave it too late and then het there and find out that they can't do what I want.

Thanks! I was hoping it would be okay to contact the florist directly as it seems to be the faster way. I've read that Tai Flora is pretty busy so that's one thing I wasn't comfortable leaving til a month before the wedding.

So ladies I am now in the 2 months to go stage!! Amazing how time is flying. I know this is the point where I can contact Nicole however, I just want input as to what I should contact her about. Next week I plan on sending down our birth certificates etc., but just wondering in the mean time what to do. Perhaps after our booking deadline for guests (next week) I can start off with providing her with a guest list and then request a last minute detail form from here.

Any other suggestions?

Hi,

I am a July 2012 suites bride.  That is crazy that every weekend is booked already.  I would suggest following up with Nicole to see if she keeps a wait list.  With it being a year out, you never know what might happen and dates might open up.  Are you flexible with switching to a weekday?  A Friday or Monday might be open and still give your guests an opportunity to just make a long weekend of it if time and cost are an issue.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
