I also booked SunGold but went with one of their associate photographers like you BMAXAM12. I think they really do a great job of taking good pics and not so much of the forced pose pics that I saw some photographers doing when I was searching around for one.

Eholt..how many guests total did you end up having? 8?

We had a group of 9 total, it was great.  We'd hoped to have a few more guests but those that came were amazing and we were able to spend time with everyone each day.  We were able to make dinner reservations each night (at a different restaurant) and most nights all came, but if they didn't no big deal.  We also finished the night at the lobby bar and the show.

My cake matched my bouquet and arrangement that was on the table where we signed the marriage certificate (pink antherium and ginger with sprayed orange babys breath). Pardon the glow sticks we were having tons of fun by that point (well the whole time but the glow sticks made their appearance at dinner).  We put them in the OOT bags and said to bring them to the reception.

Did you pay the vendor fee? I know we don't have to if they are dropped off correct?

Can you please send me the contact (email) info?

Thanks

They are in the making. I wanted to "mention" IRHB just as alternative. I prefer the beach over anywhere else. Would you avise including Beach?

I am trying to find the price per person for the wedding at Rose Hall Suites? Im planning on about 40 people.

If someone has a list of the prices needed when planning a wedding at Iberostar, please post it! This is such a confusing process trying to get information from another country. lol. I guess I will just have to have patience.

My new role on this thread is to now encourage and push you all along the way.  YOU WILL MAKE IT TO THE WEDDING OF YOUR DREAMS!

So, i was wondering why it seems like no one is going with the photographer from the resort. is it just me or is everyone choosing outside vendors for the photography? Is this because you guys want extra specail picture and they don't have the best quality there or something?

I was totally stressing out until just recently when I decided to not do that anymore! If they can't come, they can't come! If they don't like something....too bad! Someone mentioned earlier that the people who are meant to be there, will be there and I keep reminding myself that all the time!

Thanks to all the WIVES, for all the calming and inspirational advise!

The only issue with mentioning an alternate is having more people lean towards the less expensive option and then comes the issue of paying the $30 pp to come over for the day of the wedding.  Do you have a TA?  I mentioned to her that some folks with kids would likely lean towards the Beach but I DID NOT want it to be a first option.  I toyed with the idea of paying the $30pp fee but I only ended up having 1 guest there and he paid his own fee.

Bottom line, I would not mention an alternate on the STD's.  I would prefer to have personal convos with those it may affect and have my TA is the loop on what your intentions are.

Jamaica2012,

It think that people leaned towards the other vendors based on poor ratings for Digipix, trouble finding pics of their previous work and the fact that the pics included with the package are very limited and they still charge an arm and a leg for additional shots.  Once you do some research, you find that there are reputable photographers who can get the job done for reasonable prices and quality work.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
