Can you confirm that as part of the wedding package we get decorations on the huppa?  I remember ready that, but don't know exactly what that means.  I am just wondering what the basic huppa looks like that is included, and then we can spice it up from there.

If anyone has a picture of the huppa decor that is in the package at the Suites, I would love to see it.

eholt-

Do you or anyone else by chance have the measurements for the Huppa at the Suites?

Why would the huppa be differents sizes?  this seems odd

Hi IslandBride:

Here is a picture of the huppa at the beach.  "decorations" means the white material.  I told Jodi Ann at Tai Flora that I wanted a floral centerpiece for the huppa and she knew exactly what to do.

Thanks Prettysparklie!  I have my review ready to go but am waiting on some pics to add to it.  Hopefully by the end of the week I will have something.

I do not have the measurements.  The reason I know the huppa @ Beach is larger is because I took a pic of how the white fabric was draped on it and showed it to Nicole since I wanted the one @ the Suites like that.  She mentioned that the one @ Beach was larger and it wouldn't look exactly like it.  The one @ Beach is wider, thus allowing for more draping across the front.  Hope this make sense.  I hope to have pics soon.

Hi Starryism!

Just wondering what prompted you to change from the Suites to the Beach?? I'm currently booked at the Suites (wedding date reserved) and am waiting on quotes from my TA.

Thanks!!

Natalie

Hi Natalie,

We decided to move to the Beach because it looks like most of our guests will be staying at the Beach (simply because it's cheaper).  Originally we were going to pay the $30 day pass fee for people staying at the Beach (they need to pay that in order to go over to the Suites for the wedding day), but when it started to look like most people will be at the Beach, we figured it won't be worth it.  There are very few differences in terms of the wedding itself - the only one that really affects us is the fact that at the Beach you need min. 40 people to rent out a restaurant for the private ceremony.  At the Suites, some of the restaurants have a lower number requirement.  Other than that, I didn't see any major differences in the wedding plans or prices.  Hope this helped.

I guess I can't get my head around why there would be an open bar charge that is per person, since it is included in staying with the hotel.  I can almost understand paying for a bartender.  Maybe it's just me.

Do any brides know what the price is for open bar at the suites for a private reception.

The open bar costs $7/person/hour for domestic drinks, and $10 for international. I know it doesn't make sense, but it is what it is.

For you ladies that had a TTD session, did you go off the resort, or stick with the beach and pool in the resort.  I'm just trying to think about locations.

I am bringing a photographer and videographer with me, so they won't be able to suggest places to go.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
