Eholt: I can't believe your time is finally here!!! Best wishes to you and your soon to be hubby. cheers.gif

Can anyone comment if candles that are not in any type of container/holder (glass, vase, etc) will stay lit at Aunt Ruby's? It just occurred to me that my vision of a candle light filled room might not work if the flames are constantly getting blown out by the wind. BangHead.gif

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Hi Beach and Suites Brides:

Quick question.  Does anyone have the price lists for services at the Beach and Suites such as hair and make-up?  I am getting married in a month at the Grand, and my bridesmaids and some of the wedding guests are staying at the Beach.  I am looking into having their hair and make-up done at the Beach since I would assume it would be cheaper than the Grand.  If anyone can share the price list that would be great!

Thanks so much!

Bridal Hair Style US$ 80
Bridal Make Up US$ 70

Pedicures starting at: US$ 55
Bridal Wedding Package

(includes Bliss facial, Bliss Facial, The French Caribbean Manicure & Pedicure,  Bridal Hair Style/up-do and Make-Up)

those are the "Beach" prices..but the "spa" is in the Suites..so I bet the pricing is the same for all three hotels.  happy planning!  R~

This is great! I've been meaning to call for these prices. Do you by any chance have any prices for any of the other services that the salon may offer? I'm thinking of paying for my sisters to get a massage instead of buying them a bridesmaid gift and I'm curious to see if they have any special massages that they offer.

pmwoodward, i don't have details about the other spa services but i bet if you call the hotel, they can transfer you to the spa for a list of services.  my fiance and i had a couples massage in the spa last year and it was lovely...i do remember them being quite expensive...he and i are regulars at massage heights so we're spoiled by them...  i know its not much info but i hope it helps.  :-)  R~

I bought some flameless candles at costco...they come in tea lights and votives, they look good! I was afraid of the wind blowing them out too, especially at the open air resturant...the last thing we need is a paper lantern inferno!

Marlena,

Thanks for the info. I too want my guests cost to be as minimal as possible. If you don't mind me asking how much are your guests paying and how long are they staying? I was wanting my guests to not have to pay more than $1000 for a 4 night vacation in Jamaica. So if my FI and I stay at the Suites then we would be having a Suites wedding? And if we stayed at the Beach resort then it would be called the Iberostar Beach wedding? What if we stay at the Suites but most of our guests stay at the Beach, would we have to have a "Beach" wedding in order for our guests to attend? Sorry so many questions but I'm just still a little confused about the difference :-)

Thanks, Jenni

I picked the beach resort because of the cost of the vacation. I didn't want my guest's paying more than $1800 per person to go to Jamaica for the week (I wanted everyone to come and I based it on travel quotes from January!). As far as I know the wedding packages between the suites and the beach resort are very similar, but it's more money to stay at the suites. Also take into consideration that the grand doesn't allow kids!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
