Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies,

Have any past brides done the ceremony on the balcony/lawn or have any pictures? I keep debating where I want to have it, mainly because I'd like to be able to keep my dress longer and wear some heels. But on the other hand, I like the look of the huppa. Where is everyone else doing their ceremony?

Thanks for your input!! :)

That's what I was thinking about doing, but with the 3-4 inch difference my heels would make, I haven't figured out how I will do that with my dress. I've thought of getting a short reception dress to wear with heels, but haven't found any I liked that weren't sold out! wacko.gif I just have my heart set on having an awesome pair of heels! haha.

I am trying to help a friend plan a special event for he and his wife to renew their vows while vacationing at Iberostar Rose Hall in Jamaica. He has never visited Jamaica, nor the Caribbean for that matter, and just needs some guidance on how/where to start.

Contacting the hotel directly would be the logical way to start but they say they have emailed the hotel through their site but have not heard back from anyone and its been a few days. This of course has them a bit jittery and wondering if they should even try do it after all. I told them to rewind, hold up, soon come and all that good stuff :)

But seriously, I want them see how beautiful my Jamaica is and have their vows renewed in paradise to replace a wedding they never had. This ceremony would be very special and romantic. It is just for the couple only, so the planning should be much simpler than for a whole group. I am Jamaican but left about 8 years ago, so Iberostar wasn't even there at that time. I also wasn't from MoBay, so at a loss there as well.

They need to find out if there is a renewal of vows package, price and what it includes. If not then they would need to arrange for things like: a minister, talk to a wedding coordinator at Iberostar, plan the ceremony, arrange a floral bouquet and boutonnierre, decoration and floral centerpiece for their dining table, find out options for which restaurant or location within the resort to dine, small wedding cake, champagne, music, photography, dinner, possibly flowers and champagne to the room and estimated cost of all these.

Anyone else who has planned a wedding or renewal of vows at Iberostar Rose Hall - how did you initially get directly in contact with a wedding coordinator or public relations manager? Iberostar seems to have a call center not a direct line and emails haven't been answered yet. Any help at all or advice on how to get started (wedding or renewal of vows) would be great and maybe you can help alleviate some of their planning doubts.

There is a renewal of vows package, it is $1900 at the Suites.  The wedding coordinators are busy, but they usually reply within a week.  In the meantime, here's some info for you:

We just got married at the Suites on april 23rd and now transfered over to the Grand for our honeymoon (been here for a few days now and come back home sunday). Just letting everyone know that everything went smoothly and not a single hicup or anything unexpected. I will post a review as soon as I get home. I strongly advise everyone to make sure everything is communicated to Nicole PRIOR to your arrival - if so, you will have no worries mon!!!

Congrats, and can't wait to see pics!  Just wondering - did they upgrade you to the Grand for free, or did you pay extra?  We're planning to do the same thing, but we'll be booking 2 weeks at the Suites.  After the wedding, we will probably pay extra to go to the Grand if they don't upgrade us for free.

We're planing to do the ceremony on the balcony - it's one of the things that really stood out to be when I started looking at this resort.  Here are some pics I found, though I'm not sure which are from the Beach vs. the Suites.

I asked, they said it would be possible but would most likely cost a couple of thousand dollars after getting the permit. We decided to hand out sparklers to our guests at the end of the night. Should make a great picture on the beach for the end of the receiption. punk.gif

DeAngelis where are you getting the sparklers from? I considered these too but didn't know where to order them from. Please advise!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
