Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies,

I read that trip advisor review and all i have to say is WOW not nice at all!! My wedding was about 3 weeks ago   and Yes Nicole doesn't get back as soon as we like yes more communication is needed but she is a REALLY nice girl and has alot or responsibility on her. She is only one person. She has one person that assits her. I think people have to remember that destination weddings cannot be like a home wedding where you can make every little decision look at table cloths, taste cakes and meals etc. Only so much can be done from far away unless you hiring your own WC. In the end everything turned out beautiful not perfect but what wedding is?

Don't let that review get you down your wedding will be BEAUTIFUL XOXO

I have to agree with the rest of you ladies.. This is the first review that I have read that was this bad, especially agains Nicole... Nicole is usually the most comforting part of everyones review.  This person sounds like she had a lot of expecations that might not have been attainable.  I definitely wouldnt let this one trouble me.

We planned my daughters wedding for the first week in April and had 28 people coming for the event. I am in a Regional position with a Hotel company so I understand and am empathetic to the challenges of the wedding coordinator position....but we were all disappointed with the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites wedding coordinator, Nicole Barnett.
To make it easier on her and to insure details would be organized prior to arrival so we could relax and have fun once got there.....a few weeks prior to arrival we submitted meticulously detailed instructions, event orders, time lines, dinner reservation times, etc.for the wedding/reception and the group events we had planned over the 4 days and I seriously doubt she even looked at it....let alone made any effort to faciliate the Bride's wishes.
We certainly understand mistakes happen and things get overlooked sometimes but it was something major everyday....with no apology offered or attempt to correct. Every encounter with Nicole was unprofessional and absolutely aggravating....so much so that the Bride completely broke down in tears the night before her wedding from shear frustration.
Luckily we had a great, fun, efficient group who made the wedding and reception happen in spite of the wedding coordinator.
Consensus is we would love to come back to Iberostar on vacation....but not for an event. The Star Friends...Kiki, Jukebox, Momo, Happy Feet are so talented and amazing and Klema who had a smile for us every day at the pool Bar kept things fun and interesting all day long. This is a great place to bring your whole family....the Star Friends keep the kids (big & small) entertained from morning till late at night. Such a beautiful property and location and a really great value......Just wouldn't do a wedding considering our experience.
I would have given this hotel a 5 Star rating if not for our experience with Nicole.

Hi MrsGreene2011-  I think the bigger issue regarding shipped items is if they will still be there once you get there.  I remember reading a past review that says some things she shipped came up missing, so in my thoughts is better to be safe and take it with you then to be sorry and get there and your stuff is MIA.

I also saw a post from someone that said the hotel will not hold on to any items you ship, i.e decorations, OOt bags. How anyone had this issue or can anyone confirm this?

Thanks

Thanks. That's probably true. My future MIL is a decorator and wants all these decorations and I want to keep it simple so it is less to pack. She figured she could ship everything down, but I didn't think it was a good idea.

I called Tai Flora 2 weeks ago to see if I could rent the vases from them but have not heard back from them. Any other suggestions as to where I can get 5 vases? I really don't want to bring them from Canada.

Who is your florist? You should be able to get vases from them. If not, I know you can rent them from pussbackfoot:

Hay ladies.  I am thining of putting down rose petals on the aisle and possible the reception tables.  Does anyone know if freeze dried petals present an issue with going through customs?  I am wondering where I can get them and perhaps not TaiFlora as I think the are overpriced for everything!

Bmaxam12,

Thank you! Congrats to you too! I'm so excited to plan...and am very excited that it's not a regular, full wedding that I have to plan and stress over! I see you're from Minneapolis...I grew up in a town 45 minutes from there and all my family/friends are coming from Minneapolis! Small world. cheesy.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
