There's tons you could put - welcome dinner/rehersal dinner info, menu choices, travel information, resort information. My invite had 4 inserts; ceremony, reception, travel and resort. :)

Hi Jones,

Thanks so much for the review. It was really helpful. When you say that you saw a couple who had their reception at the lobby terrace, do you mean that they had their dinner and everything there? Or just the dance and speeches?

Starrysim,

I'm doing a semi private reception at Calabash and then renting out the disco from 830-1030 for speeches, first dance etc... The disco opens up to the public after 1030 and I'm fine with finishing the night off with other resort guests. As long as having other resort guests there doesn't bother you, you and your guests can dance until the disco shuts down :)

I hope this helps

I'm just wondering what everyone is doing for dinner & reception.  From the info I have, private restaurant rental is from about 6:30 -10.  The disco can only be rented out privately until 10:30, so it doesn't make sense to do private dinner and then private disco.  But I feel like 10 pm is pretty early to call it a night, and I would like a PRIVATE reception to go a bit later into the night, like midnight at least.  I'm not sure if it makes sense to have a DJ and dancing if we have to clear out by 10 pm.  Am I missing something?  How is everyone else planning the reception?  Is there any way to have the reception last until midnight?

Thanks ladies.  I don't think I will have the Welcome dinner time and location confirmed by the time I need to order the invites.  I guess I could just include that we will be having one huh?  We were going to send a pre-travel brochure too but I guess we could use some of the info from that and scratch pre-travel.  Or I guess I could take some of the info from the Iberostar brochure and put it on the invite also.

Thanks again!

Hey chan_porty,

They had there speeches dancing (frist dance as well) cutting of the cake as well. I don't believe you can have a dinner there. I think they try to keep all dinners in the resturant areas..

Hi Daisymable,

The three resorts share the same salon. I haven't seen anything negative about the salon. Everyone i have seen get there hair and makeup done there was amazing. I just used an outside makeup artist because i wanted something more out than i would usually do and wanted someone who was an expert for that. My hair was done by one of my good friends who is also my hair stylist back in bermuda. For me it was just cheaper to do it this was as the salon prices were a bit much for me.... The makeup artist was only about 150 to do both my sister and I and my friend did my hair for free. I think the salon charges over 200 for wedding hair and makeup( and thats just for the bride) that maybe why others have not used them as well.

If so, does anyone know if the salon has a website? Does anyone have a review of the salon?  I can't decide what to do. I am wondering if I should just do a make up lesson here before I go.

Were you able to inquire with Nicole re Flower Studio?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
