Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

I thought I was the only one that hadn't heard from Jodi. I mean this is ridiculous now. If we were getting married here in NY, vendors would be returning our calls/emails left and right. I'm so over that "island time" excuse. Destination wedding or not, we shouldn't have to send these people email after email just to get a reply to our initial question. So annoying!

Nicole misunderstood my lounge furniture request so unfortunately you'll have to go through Tai flora if it's what you desire.  We are settling with tables and chairs on the beach.

I hope to do a planning thread, I'm really bad with taking pictures.

MrsJones thanks for the review.  Congrats on a beautiful day!. I'm having my reception at the Calabash, so happy you enjoyed it.  I too am struggling with Jodi at Tai-flora, it's driving me insane!  I can't get a response even if I paid for it.

Okay I'm a bit confused and I know one of you ladies can help me out. After the ceremony ends, you have a choice of dinner at one of the restaurants. Now how long can we use the restaurant for if we rent it our privately?? I figure within the private rental that's where speeches, dances and toasts take place. Or am I mistaken?

I notice a few of you have the dinner, then go to a bar for dances and speeches and then head off to the disco. Is this a must?

Does anyone know if one fire dancer is suffice for entertainment?  I guess I'm thinking two will make it that much more entertaining, but I don't want to spend the extra if it's really not that big of a difference.

MrsJones I neglected to ask you if the Calabash was really far from the beach.  Nicole mentioned that it's about a 5 minute walk, is that right?

Hey  Islandgirl910,

The Dj didn't say much from what i remember :) but he did play good music! I would specify the music you would like and just give it to them before hand. He started of playing a little older music then made his way up to new stuff. We were all dancing so i wouldn't stress about the outside dj. I had one of my friends be the MC and she would say a couple fo things because she is good at being the spot light. lol

Is that true or does he amp the crowd up? Outside DJ is about $200 more than the resort DJ not to mention the vendor fee & day pass. That alone right there is $375 - ridiculous! Could so save that rather than spend it! LoL

Congrats to you and your new husband!!

Hey Tina5978,

I don't even think it will take that long!. I had my ceremony at the lazy river which is right infront of calabash once your cross over the little bridge. the beach is just right past the pools. I would say 2 minutes tops maybe 4 if your dress is a little oversized and hard to walk in! :)

So true about Jodi with Tai Flora. She has responded to my emails only once. . I have tried more than 3 times to get pictures of specifics things I want. I hate to call over there. I am going to have to mention it to the Grand wedding coordinator and see what she says.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
