Island bride, I only added hair flowers, boutineer for dad and coursage for mom and the steel drum band.  It was beautiful without all the extras, I took fabric for the huppa and chair ties.

Good question Mrsdeloatch! Marcia did not include the room in her quote (I only found about it from ladies on this board). Also, don't forget that you still need to pay an addl $100 for the vendor fee for her assistant.

Has anyone else been asked to cover her room for the night if you are doing the TTD the next day?

Last question, what time are you guys starting your TTDs and have you picked your locations?

if she stays the night then no vendor fee at all, she and her assistant are guests on the property.  She didn't mention the room in her quote; it only came up after we arrived in Jamaica (I kinda freaked out since it was not discussed before hand and she paid for the room).

if you have any questions about covering the room charge, just ask her.

We did out TTD around 9 (I believe, it was a few months ago) and just did it onsite.  We probably could have gone other locations but I didn't want to push since she paid for her room.  It only took 1-1.5 hours, still had most of the day free.

have fun!!!

Our wedding is booked 2.11.12!!!!!  We are so excited and I already pretty much have my save the dates and wedding website built!!  So excited to plan with you girls!

Quick question (first of many cheesy.gif ) - Does anyone know, or has anyone seen people on the resort with their own mugs?  I would like to put some customized ones in the OOT bags, but don't want to go to the trouble if they're not allowed.

Also, still looking to see if anyone has pics of the artificial flowers the resort has for the huppa.

Thanks!

Thanks ladies, I feel a huge sense of obligation to make the experience a grand one for all of the people that are spending all this money to be a part of my beautiful day.  I'm not complaining just wondering if others felt the same.

Day 1- I'm having the welcome dinner by the pool w/appetizers, open bar and steel drum band.

Day 2- We are paying for all of our guest to do a catamaran cruise which includes drinks and snorkeling

Day 3- Rehearsal dinner

Wedding Day- DJ, dove release, cocktail hour w/appetizers and open bar, dinner, beach party with fire dancers, dance floor on the beach and lounge furniture (my grandma's need to sit lol)

Plus I'm doing the OOT bags, passport welcome books and program books by Rebecca.  Parasols, sashes, fans, runners and flowers.

To me all of this is the norm I suppose I just didn't expect the price to continue to add up lol....so naive! blush2.gif  Just so happy I had all of the BDW ladies to help me with this experience.  I would be so lost without all of you and your amazing ideas!

Hi Ms. Riggs,

Due to unforeseen circumstances Ms. Pringle is no longer with us. My name is Janielle and I will be your new contact.

Please see below my responses in blue.

Dear Mrs.Pringle,

I hope you are having a wonderful day. I have a lot of questions for you.

1. I was hoping the day before the wedding I could schedule all of my guest to have dinner at the Japanese Restaurant. Right now I believe there will be about 20 people total (including me and groom) This will not be a problem, however I wonâ€t be able to confirm this with you until at least a month in advance

2. One of my guest birthday is on September 10th so I was hoping we could order a cake?  Most definitely What are the choices?  Chocolate, Vanilla & Strawberry Cheese cake Any ideas of something else we could do would be great! Well if you donâ€t mind sharing your special day with her you can dedicate a toast to her during your reception, or you can arrange for both of you to get massages together. (P.s  if itâ€s a male then  the toast would work or an in room courtesy (for both male or female))

(Her birthday is really the 11th, the day after the wedding. Do you guys know of anything I could do? I was thinking maybe go to Margaritaville but reading there reviews I am not sure.)

3. I wanted to have the reception at the gourmet restaurant. Is it possible to have that area private while we eat. Of course you can but it will only be for 1 and ½ hrs, starting at 6:30pm or 9:00pm.

4. I also wanted chiavari chairs. Is it $15 per chair? Please note that for all floral arrangement and décor  (including chivari chairs) We work with an external company called Tai Flora, below you will find the web page:. Jodi from Tai Flora will best able to qoute you a price.

www.taiflora.com

5. I wanted to play certain songs during the ceremony. Do I need to put it on Cds or an Ipod?  Whichever is more convenient to you. Well there be somebody to change the songs we need be yes there will be?

Thanks for all you do, Most welcomed

LaToya Riggs

Hi Tina,

I see you posted that you are having your dance on the beach with a dancefloor. Has Nicole confirmed this yet? We also really, really want to do this! Do you mind telling me how much she quoted you for this? She will not answer our questions yet so I don't know how much to budget for.  Where are you getting the lounge furniture?

I agree.. I am trying very hard not to get caught up in all the extras... My group is now down to about 14 people and I actually find it difficult to pay for alot of these things for such a small gruoup.  I keep re-thinking all my planning decisions not wanting it to go to waste if everything is not utilized.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
