Do any of you ladies know when Iberostar is going to release their 2012 rates? I'm sick of waiting, I want to book our trip and gather information so I can make my passport invitations!

My TA originally said she'd let me know in March cause that's when the airline prices come out, but now we're waiting for the hotel :(

My FI and I are staying 4 nights at IRHS and then traveling to Couples Swept Away in Negril too! It looks so amazing and I hear from people who have come back that it is very intimate and relaxing. And the beach is absolutely gorgeous! Anyone going to be there June 6-12?? That's when we'll be there!

I doubt i'll wish we hadn't left because I really want the privacy from friends and family and we have a 1 year old daughter so we'd like to go somewhere with NO kids for a little while to relax ;) My TA said she likes Couples Negril more, but from reviews and pictures i've seen I think we might try Swept Away, it looks GORGEOUS!

In my personal opinion, no it's not worth the money to have it at the Suites instead of the Beach. You'll get married on the same beach and get the same decor, treatment, etc. You just pick from different restaurants to have the reception at. What we were going to do before I switched my wedding to TWJ is stay at the Suites and have the wedding through the Beach and then guests could stay at whichever section of the resort they want. We're still staying at the Suites and I think it's def. worth the money to upgrade to a room there instead of the Beach - - - but as for the wedding I don't think you really get anything more for your money there.

Liz, I posted the same question yesterday but it never was posted. It was my first post, so maybe the moderators are making sure the content is ok?

Anyway, I am helping my future sister-in-law plan her Feb 2012 wedding at IGRH and she is having the same problem!! It's really hard to plan without rates and she is getting antsy as well...The resort told her rates wouldn't be ready until June or July (for February)!!! Which Iberostar are you planning on staying at?

JUNE OR JULY ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!! sorry that is just the worst news ever ugh why do all bad things in my life have to happen on the same day.

We were planning on staying at the Suites, but that's just ridiculous how can they not have rates ready until 6 months prior!  I'm getting married January 18 and have already changed my mind about having my wedding at the resort...now I'm afraid i'm going to change my mind about staying there at all. I have had nothing but problems with Iberostar so far it's pretty disheartening =(

For the folks that are unable to get rates, are you working with a travel agent (TA)?  That would make a huge difference.  My TA was able to get me rates fairly early on, @least a year out.  I remember having to wait on airfare but not the room rates.  Get in touch with a good TA and they should be able to assist.

Lizk23, I am sorry you aren't having a good Iberostar experience but the ratings and prior bride reviews leave me to believe they are a great option.  Hope things get better for you or you find another venue for your special day.

@Lizk23, I am sorry this has been so stressful for you.

I agree with eholt... find a good TA.  This is just my experience so far in the very early stages, but our TA has been able to track that information down for us and we are booked for July 22, 2012.  We can't do anything with airfare until August/September, but getting some of the pricing didn't seem to be a problem.  Good luck, I hope you can find someone to help you and put your mind at ease.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
