Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Hi Ladies

As far as the locations I think you can choose once you get there (or at least change your decision once you get there and see the options). We chose beach ahead of time but then once we got there the coordinator showed us a couple different places we could set up the ceremony on the beach.

I agree that the open bar is expensive and kind of ridiculous for an all-inclusive resort. We originally said no to it but once we got there and realized there was no bar near the restaurant (Uncle Tony's at the Beach Hotel) we decided we should offer it to our guests and I am really glad we did as most don't drink only beer or wine. I guess it depends on the location of the resturant you choose. If we had chosen 1 of the other resturants there would have been a bar closer but I still would have felt weird making my guests leave the resturant to go to the bar a few doors down for a drink. Again, I think you can wait until you get there to make a final decision - that is what we did.

As far as a welcome party you are talking about I would suggest just having everyone meet you at a specific location (lobby bar) where they can get drinks for free rather than a set cocktail party where you would have to pay for the hourly bar per person. I handed out an agenda to everyone when we arrived and had everyone meet one night at the lobby bar for a little party. We also had the hotel make a reservation at one of the resturants for the whole group (30 people) for one of the nights and this worked out really well.

Let me know if you have any other questions

Brie

I've been debating the same thing. I think I'm going to go with the terrace since we won't have to worry about other people in our shots anywhere, and because the wind in all beach shots seems to be such a problem. But my decor would probably be the same either place, and if yours would too you could always change your mind when you got there. Since there's only one wedding per day you don't have to worry about someone taking the other locations.

Hi Kimberli,

Did you choose a photographer yet? I booked Brian Nejely and he will edit your pictures and remove people and objects from the background of your pictures if needed. It's something to keep in mind if you have your heart set on a beach ceremony.

When I met with the WC at the Grand in November I made it very clear to hear that I don't want anyone on the sidelines during my wedding. It's the staff's and WC responsibility to clear out the area before your wedding begins. It's best to have your ceremony around 4-5pm because of the lighting from the sun and most people will be heading back to their rooms from the pool to get ready for dinner.

I haven't gotten that far but that is a good thing to know! If only I could control the wind.... :)

We will be staying at the Suites because we have kids, but we'll be arriving on your wedding day... ours will be on the 6th- probably on the Suites terrace. It just seems surreal to talk to someone ahead of time who will be there at the same time! Too cool!

Does anyone know about streaming the wedding live for those that won't be there?  I don't know enough about this as to how difficult it may be, but when we were deciding on which resort, I remember reading that some resorts had this as part of the wedding package.  I have had a few people ask me about it, but I haven't read anything about it anywhere and wasn't sure if anyone else had done it or checked into it.  For me this would be mainly for my grandmother and close family that can't make it.

I am so jealous that a few of you brides who are getting married a few months after our Sept wedding already have some guests booked. How'd you do it? Up until now not one guest has booked a room for our wedding. Granted we gave them the option of booking through our TA or booking on their own. A part of me feels like many of them are waiting for their tax return before make a move. My fiance and I are going to be booking our room at the of this month, as our TA told us we had more than enough time. But still it'd be exciting to see at least a few people book, ya know?

Hi Island Girl,

We announced at our engagement party in August 2010 that we were doing a destination wedding to give all of guests and bridal party more than enough time to book. Both my fiance and I are in sales so we've been informing (selling) our guests about the hotel and airline rates, I could prob do this for a living and it's only been a couple of months lol. I'm extremly suprised that I have guests and flights booked before my STD even went out. Some of our guests said that they will be using their tax return to purchase their flight.

You need to get your guests excited about their vacation and how much fun they're going to have with all your closet family and friends.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
