We are going to have our receptions at Aunt Ruby's in front of the beach. The reviews sound pretty good and I like the idea of having in right by the ceremony site. We'll be getting married on the beach since we're expecting a bigger group.

I was looking at the pics online and can"t decide on the Cajun restaurant or Uncle Tony's... The pics of Uncle tony's looks like it would need tons of decorations to play up the space... I would love to know what you think and decided :) Congrats to you!!!

That doesn't look bad. I'm sure they'll dress it up. Aunt Ruby's doesn't look to fancy during the day, but pictures from Nicole, the wedding coorinator look pretty good. I'm not too sure how to dress it up yet. I like the standard chair covers, and fabric, but since we're outside I wouldn't mind some extra lighting, maybe hanging paper lanterns, and then find a reasonably priced centrepiece.

Hi ladies.  I was wondering if anyone has contacted Floral Fantasy about centerpiece pricing?  I found some pricing in this thread http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/36041/floral-fantasies-price-list-will-deliver-to-ror  but it was for the arrangements and archways they have online (which are beautiful by the way).  The website is http://www.floralfantasiesjamaica.com/weddings.htm   for anyone who hasn't seen it.

If you ladies are thinking of doing the 'drowned' flower centrepeices (flowers underwater) I would consider the fake flowers. They look real enough, especially if they are underwater anyways! But, shipping glass is a hassle. I saw recently that pussfootback is renting out glass vases. Maybe someone can ask what their rental prices are like? They are wedding decorators in Jamaica so they might want to try to sell more of their services along with the rental though...

I bet that would be a hassle. I was wondering about plastic vases if they are a must have. Is Tai Flora just that expensive? I still have not heard from them, but I will like to see a quote first before I start buying decor for the reception. If you are the person that likes to see the flowers I really suggest Michael's. They have beautiful flowers!!!

What would be a hassle? Cause the resort staff would do all the work (filling the vases with water, etc). Or maybe you meant contacting pussbackfoot would be a hassle? You never know unless you try! If the vase rental is only a couple bucks each (which it should be!) and fake flowers are only a couple bucks too, you may save yourself some money. One of my friends did this for her centrepeices with calla lillies and I never would've guessed they were fake. Just offering options to you guys :)

OH and ladies - I had to pay a $75 day pass AND a $100 vendor fee to have the outside DJ come. Which really sucked. Since the resort DJ has been getting good reviews - I'd go ahead and use him to save that money. But you 'Beach' gals make sure its the same DJ they use at the Suites, since that's the one that's been getting the good reviews.

If there are any 'Beach' brides that used the resort DJ please weigh in here. :D

Oh no!!! I hired Kevan for my wedding. Why did you have to pay two fees???

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
