DeAngelis2be- Well I guess that is the reason, I didn't have to put down a deposit, my guests just book when they are ready and he sends me a list every month or so.

Islandgirl910- I don't have a pic of the centerpiece I created but I do have the inspiration.

It is hard to have an idea of who will show up. Alot of people are interestd, but economically I know it will not be feasible to expect everyone to come. My greatest fear is hearing others complain of the price of the wedding. I know that is out of my control. I have just started planning on items I want for my OOT bags and looking for places to get these items at reasonable prices. Yes you are very lucky to have family do your photography. Saves you a lot of $$$. You also have your dress. That is wonderful. Things will come together. I do agree, planning is hard without a visual sight and hopefully Nicole would help with that. She must be very busy right now.

That is beautiful. Are centerpieces the only decor you are taking? I find it hard to visualize what the set up will look like at the reception. Do you know what the resort is providing for decoration at the reception? On my information I see floral centerpiecfe for the registry wedding table and cake with fresh flowers. Are those the only two reception decoration provided?

I guess I needed to figure out what to start on next. I wanted to work on things, (favors, brochures, oot bags,)but I was wondering if I needed to have a final guest count before I started. My future father-in-law is a photographer and is going to take the photos as a wedding gift. I am so lucky because he is really, really good. I wanted to work on decorations, but its hard to get a visual for a place you have never seen. Are you using a DJ or band. I was thinking of using a DJ, but wasn't sure how good the resorts is.

Hi Mrs. Greene - My advice - get as much done asap as possible. Don't worry about final numbers, just guesstimate and get it done. The last few months before the wedding are INSANE. I underestimated how much I had to do and pulled a lot of all-nighters to complete everything. I also had a lot of DIY stuff though too. There are lots of to-do lists to be found on this site and others - get one and edit it for yourself.

My fiance likes the suits your husband and groomsmen wore, can you please provide more details about their suits...Is it the regular linen suit, what color linen did they order, did they wrinkle badly? I like the weight of Linen but hate how it wrinkles and looks messy at the end of the day.

MrsDeloatch: What color did your fiance get?

Thank you for any info you can provide!

Thanks Prettysparklie!! We did the standard $99 lineen suit, we got English beige, which was a light greyish/beige. I originally wanted grey suits for the guys but because I didnt start shopping until the fall/winter I couldn't find anything and the linen didn't come in grey. But they looked really great. The pants were wrinkled by like 1 am but were fine for most of the day/night. We brought one of those portable steamers and the guys steamed their suits before putting them on.

Hello Breeze, I will be reading your review soon! I have a question regarding the decor. If you don't decorate is the reception very plain? Also, is a guestbook necessary or does the resort provide one? What do you recommend as far as getting ready the day of the wedding if I plan on staying at a separate Iberostar property than the guests and bridal party? Is that a bad move? Also, how was the welcome or rehersal dinner done? Is it part of everyones dinner tickets?

Breeze I meant if you don't bring your own centerpieces is what's provided plain? If so, I will start looking for centerpieces. Also, how were the flowers? I know the flowers are pricey and thinking of making silk bouquets and taking them to save. The BM dresses are gorgeous. Your mother made them? Beautiful!

Hahahaha Bridetwobe - so many questions!! I remember being in your shoes...

My best advice to ALL the new brides:

1) Read through this thread from beginnning to end. I know its 137 pages, but you will find answers to almost everything in it. There is no reason for us to have to retype the answers to the same questions over and over with each new bride that joins. This way, we also keep the thread smaller and more manageable to read.

2) Read the reviews on each Iberostar hotel in the new review section and the old review section.

3) Read some of the planning threads

4) Use the search bar! Most likely your questions have been answered somewhere on this site - the search bar will find it :)

Happy Planning!!!

I'm taking the centerpieces, fabric for the huppa and royal blue chair sashes. I also have votive candles to surround the centerpieces, I figure 3 to a table.  As far as I know they don't provide much in terms of decorations.  The floral centerpiece and the cake flowers is all I know, everything else you need to pay extra.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
