Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

Hi ErinDoc

Congratulations!

1. Recommended ceremony time is usually between 4-5 depending what time of year. I am having mine at 4pm as I wanted it still to be sunny for some pics. If the sun didn't go down till later I would prefer it at 5pm as then you only have an hour till the reception dinner.

2. The ceremony/cocktail and dinner reception can be as structured as you like. The ceremony will last approximately 30 mins. And dinner reception in the restaurants starts at 6.30pm. So for example you could have ceremony 4-4.30pm Cocktail reception for 2 hours, then make your way to the reception dinner. If you are hiring out the restaurant you can be in there until 10.30 which leave time for speeches, cutting of cake, dancing and throwing the bouquet. If you are not you will probably finish around 8.30 then leave. Between 8.30 and 10.30 you could hire the club, or have a DJ at another location.

I think you can pretty much do what you like. If you request things a certain way I am sure you can get it. I'm sure you could have your wedding at midday too. If you are hiring the restaurant out I'm sure they will do what you request. Don't be afraid to ask.

This is my plan its very laid back and I am not worrying about anything and I am praying for perfect sunshine.

4pm Ceremony followed by champagne toast (beach)

4.30pm Group pictures

5pm cocktail party on beach and cut the cake

6.30pm Dinner reception

8.30pm leave restaurant freshen up

10pm meet guest at the bar then club (FREE!)

I've been reading this forum for about a month and wanted to introduce myself.  My name is Erin, and I'm planning to get married in late 2011 at IRHS!  I'm currently in the process of picking/securing my date.  I can't wait - this makes it all so real!

Anyway...I wanted to thank you all for the information on this forum!!  I wanted to read as much as I could so that I didn't ask too many questions that have already been answered.  I think at this point, I only have some of the older posts to catch up on.

I do have two questions for anyone that would like to share their experience/opinion:

1.  What time did/will your wedding ceremony take place?  I ask because of the threat of rain most days in the late afternoon, and I would like to get married on the beach.  I know they have a back up area in the case of rain, but I'm sure I'm not alone in hoping and praying that the back-up plan never has to be put in place.

2.  How structured is the ceremony/cocktail party/reception compared to a "typical" wedding/reception?  I'm a big of a planner and very organized - which some have called a control freak :) - so one of the many reasons my FI and I chose a DW was to NOT have to deal with all of the details and structure and timing of a "typical" wedding.  Bring on the island time!!

Again, thank you all so much for sharing your experiences and questions!  It helped me choose IRHS and, of course, added to my excitement!!!

Does anyone know if we want to rent out the restaurant for our reception, if we have to book it now? I know there is a wedding the next day after our wedding, and I figure just in case they many want to rent it out the day before for an event, perhaps we should put a deposit down now. If I don't have to worry about this, someone let me know. However, if I do, let me know as well.

The beauty of IRHB/S/G is that they have only one wedding each day, you get the first priority to a restaurant as long as you do it in advance over anyone. I hope that answers your question, at least this is what i was told when i was planning my wedding.

HI!

Congrats on your wedding! I was wondering how your wedding went at Iberostar.  Did you marry at the Grand, Suites, or Beach?  I am still gathering information.  It's kind of confusing since there's 3 different coordinators, locations, and restaurants.  Any info. and/or pictures would be so helpful! Thank you!

Hey Breeze are you having any sort of welcome cocktails the first day your guests arrive at the Iberostar Beach hotel? I want to have a little 'cocktail' party but the locations they are offering me all come with a per person fee (what the ?? as it is an 'all-inlcusive') so I thought I would just have guests meet at one of the bars. Unfortunately I don't know any of there names!!

So anyways, I'm just sending my BC and passport notarized copies.

All 3 resorts are treated as 3 separate properites. I recently did a site visit at the Suites and the Grand 2 weeks ago, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you pictures. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

I did a photoshoot at the beach click on below link to view my favorites.

Hi Princess J,

I don't know if they have different procedures at IRHB as for us we just made reservation in advance with Nicole at one of the al carte restaruants for the number of guests we were going to have. You just have to ask your coordinator in advance. We didn't pay a cent for ours at IRHS. I hope this helps.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
